I'm not so sure why so many people think we will have a coaching search. The only way Miles goes is if we have his replacement lined up and it won't be for someone like Hermann. Any "candidate" LSU will bring in will simply be a feeble attempt to drive the price down on whoever they have targeted as their guy.

Just the way it has played out, Alleva all but being confirmed for media leaks, makes me think this is a hit job on Miles and Alleva doesn't have anyone on lock. I hope I am wrong, but I do not trust Alleva on this one.

Hell no.
This is LSU, bureaucracy at its finest. If things where being handled smoothly none of this nonsense would have come out. This is being handled by incapable people. I like Coach Miles a lot but can see the argument for change but the way it is being handled gives me very little confidence it would be a change for the better.

Maybe. Maybe not. Obviously none of us know what's going on, but if an arrangement was already in place, I would say it's feasible that both parties are wanting to wait until after their last games before announcing anything. FSU/UF is a big rivalry game, so out of respect for that series, just wait a little.

No reason to wait to fire him? Fisher can say, "yes, I'm in...make the $ right), but ALOT has to happen.
There is no logical reason this should happen before next Sunday at the earliest unless your target wants to meet face to face after the regular season. Then, by the end of next week at the latest. If not, he ain't going anywhere.

To me locked up is a signed agreement to be the head coach at LSU.
Until that happens the reality answer is NO

sorry man. but locking up coaches before existing coaches are let go just doesn't happen. can you think of even one time that's happened? no coach in waiting thing, that's what that designation is for.
did bama have anyone locked up? no. texas? no. notre damn? no. lsu when we hired saban or miles? no.
you can't lock up anyone when you are under contract with someone else. it would probably negate the contract. no coach, or agent of a coach, I gonna be a party to something that dumb. not even a verbal. the LSU coaching job is NOT OPEN therefore no one can fill it.

I initially said Monday and I'll stick with that.
If you're LSU you will want to meet face to face with Fisher (r whoever your target is) and that won't happen before Sunday unless theyre driving and meeting in the middle at a Pensacola Waffle House in the middle of the night this week
