These guys own a ring, there isn't anything keeping them here. Some will stay another year purely because their draft stock is negligible.

You hit the nail on the head. No leadership from the seniors! Just look at who the seniors are and you'll know why.

Neal, Pearson, Kling, and Frey.

If you were told their batting avg in sec play would be- .97, .229, .120, and .182

Neal - He isn't the best offensively or defensively at his position. Other than being a left-handed bat, he doesn't add anything to the lineup. We aren't at a point where he should be playing based on potential.

Frey - I had high hopes for Frey and wanted him in the lineup more early in the season. He looked good once he got a chance and hasn't looked the same since his injury.

Pearson - Pearson's batting in SEC play is similar to Milam, but Milam is too solid defensively to put Pearson in his place. Pearson isn't special in the OF either. Larson is doing great right now and he has to stay in the lineup. On the bright side, Pearson got the only base hit out of our 8 pinch-hit attempts this weekend.

Kling - Since Vandy, it seems Kling has improved enough to stay in the lineup for now. Unfortunately, Brown seems to be the best option to replace Kling in CF and he looked bad at the plate and unimpressive in the field lately.

so the younger guys are struggling b/c Nippolt, Bingham, Ackenhausen, Hellmers, Little, Milazzo, and Travinski aren't leading them?

Pearson has been the same since he got here. Kinda like Dugas, he gets hot for a while and you can’t take him out. And then he hits a cold streak.

I get the comparison, but Dugas was way more talented and injuries slowed him down. Pearson is a poor mans version of Dugas where instead of going off for a whole weekend, he hits 1 HR when you thought it was time to give up on him.

Also, Dugas’ leadership gave you a reason to play him. Guys fed off of him. We don’t have anyone like that on this roster.

HTF does LSU go 4+ seasons with a below average fielding SS?

Speaking of Dugas, kid is killing it in single at for the Nats to start the season.

I can’t believe we went into this season with Pearson, Braswell, Kucharek and Milam as the only hope for our MIF.

I was completely puzzled by the Braswell signing, based on his results at SCarolina. Seems like a big miss in talent eval.

Dugas even had a serious eye issue and still came back and pounded at the plate, talk about a guy on a mission.

Do you know how leadership works? Literally every college coach talks about the importance of leadership from upperclassmen.

The shoulder injury pretty much set him back for the rest of the year. It really sucks because he was swinging it very well.

Kling went 1 for 7 vs Tennessee which is an average of .142. Do you really call that an improvement notbilly? Oh wait it's Kling we are talking about so I guess for you that is an improvement for him.

Last 3 SEC games ..Kling 1-7.....142 batting average. Entire SEC play Kling 3-25....120 batting average. Definitely a guy who needs to be in lineup every day.
