Common misconception about 2003 was that WE weren't the team in 'question.' LSU was ranked #2 in both polls and #2 in 6/7 computers. The team that wasn't suppose to be there was Oklahoma, who lost in the Big12 title game badly, but got in due to having a tougher schedule

I don't even think it was because they had a tougher schedule. I think margin of victory was still an element in the computer rankings in '03 and OU pretty much ran up the score on everyone they played that year.

No such thing. Ohio State almost lost to Northwestern. Every year we hear the same crap about "locks" to go undefeated and yet only an incredibly small percentage of those teams close the deal.
