Nice to see a couple of the regulars back spamming every DE thread with excuses. Stats? Only stat you need to look at is his completion percentage compared to other championship QB's or any half decent QB's for that matter. 1 good pass downfield, a couple dinks and dunks, and incompletion city coupled with 1 pick with 2 others that should have been.

That sums up DE and his entire football career. Smart kid, yes. Tough, sure. Knows what to do when there's pressure or any sense of the play not going like it was practiced, not so much. Very inconsistent and inaccurate for the most part. We need someone who can make plays when the game is not going as planned.

DE has not shown he can do that. If given equal opportunities and reps this spring, DE would be 4th or 5th by BYU. Relying mainly on being a 5th year senior can only get you so far. Like 8-9 wins far.

How so?? How is Narcisse the same mold as Harris and Jordan??

Because he
Lacks the

Conditioning to
Keep the job.

That would be my guess as to why he said that.

maybe the dummest post in tiger rant history. You could save yourself some time and us some reading if you'd just post that you don't know the first thing about football and have no clue what you're talking about.

The big knock on Narcisse is that he has essentially no game experience the past two years

This^ and This^

Narcisse is a physical specimen with a cannon and a beautiful deep ball. No doubt he is one of the better looking prospects at QB in, well, ever.

But I don't know how comfortable I'd feel putting him out there against the Bama defenses and such, without a good year to adjust to the speed of the SEC and learn the playbook.

Sure, I'll get downvoted to hell for this, but let's redshirt both Narcisse and Brennan this season and let the QB competition ensue in 2018 between the two. Because in all honesty, Narcisse is built like a brick shitehouse, but two consecutive ACLs in two consecutive seasons have left his legs two years under-built. No piont in throwing him to the wolves as a true freshman who has missed the previous two seasons at the high school level.

He will be better and much more ready next year, and so will Brennan.

A lot is going to depend on the play of our offensive line. All the QBs will look shitty if the offensive line play looks shitty.

I think Narcisse as well as BM will both benefit from a RS year.

This is why I avoid the rant during the football season, or any season for that matter. You are actually saying that a QB that hasn't played a down in an lsu game and only has a handful of practices is "easily" the best QB since RP? Do you not understand how fricking dumb that sounds? You know nothing but what the media and coaches have told you but feel the need to sit back and preach your tigerdroppings coaching knowledge. What a clown

I have accepted DE doesn't have the strongest arm in the world; whether related to injury or not. Last night I was hoping to see more decisive decisions made by our second year starter. It appeared he locked in on Chark as opposed to looking for secondary options. If defenses take away our primary receivers, our QB needs to take what the defense is giving us. At this point, we have a ways to go

they've said that Narcisse is one of the best athletes on the team, which is pretty darn impressive considering he's had two ACL tears and hasn't played much

Scott. Everyone is sleeping on the absolute best pocket passer and runner we have of our QB's. He is accurate and fast. So, y'all enjoy the flavor of the month in Narcisse, but if they go on talent and skill, Scott is the guy. Has been since last year early on. He's a beast.... if we unleash him.

What? Narcisse looks way bigger than harris coming out of high school and now. Narcisse looks like a specimen. As in Cam Newton type size and runs better than both Harris or Jefferson ever dreamed of.

Talent isn't the right word. He's the most talented coming out of high school, no doubt. His ceiling is also, by far, the highest. Too many rantards like to anoint these athletic QBs who never did anything but rely on their athleticism. Playing QB at the D1 level takes WAY more than a strong arm and quick feet. Then we have idiots who are anointing a kid who hasn't played a full season since his sophomore year and we think he's ready for the SEC?!? And then they say he's the most talented QB recruit since Periloux?!? Wtf are these cats looking at? Periloux, for all his faults, was actually a smart QB. He didn't rely on just his big arm and feet in HS, he read defenses and went through progressions. This kid is no wear near what Periloux was coming out of high school.

Although LN deserves the chance to show what he's made of, everything you said about Ryan P is probably correct. He was a once in a while player. People forget quickly. Had he stayed on course who knows how the timeline of LSU football changes. He was the top player in the country and certainly appeared to be as good as advertised. LN can be anything he wants but surely wouldn't be a bust if he isn't Ryan P.

No! Because he is a freshman. Unless he has the wheels of the QB at Bama or the QB at Louisville, he isn't ready to lead a top team. Even those two sputtered and failed in their last game. Have you forgotten how lost freshmen appear when trying to read defences and complete passes.
Get your racist glasses off and think.

Nothing really to argue about. All of these guys can play. They wont all get the same opportunity. You can onky start one QB at a time. They are not going to get the same look. I was hoping in thw spring we would learn more about the depth chart. That didnt happen.

Agreed. DE was given every opportunity to not lose the job instead of the other QB's not "taking" the job from him. Seems like he had 10 x's as many reps with the first unit compared to anyone else. Kind of hard to compare the QB's if they're not all give a fair chance.

That second Oline was swiss cheese last night. If that's what the rest of the QB's have been practicing behind all spring, then it's amazing the job they've done by all accounts.

These post are pure comedy. It's not just the uneducated uninformed assessment some fans have of Etling, the real kicker is the confidence these total fantasy based opinions of guys like Narcisse, Scott or McMillan are. Just break the OP down. "We are back to the same place" lmao this comment after a spring game (practice) where we showed nothing ran basic 8th grade routes that the defense knew were coming. Also remember where we were when Etling took over? Coming off two years of awful QB play and having to insert him in just to beat Jacksonville State. So after he saves the season surpasses anything our last 2 QBs did and had better numbers than Matt Fylnn in 2007 we are back to the same place? What's more funny is Etling really didn't do anything to warrant this reaction, he threw "A" pic, he also threw a beautiful pass up the sideline and was totally in command and comfortable. We had zero mess ups with our new shifts and motions and zero miss alignments penalties or trouble getting the plays in and snapped on time. Part two of the fantasy post..." Narcisse is the best looking prospect we've had in awhile" lol. How many throws did Narcisse make tnite? Is the OP aware that not only his classmate Myles Brennan rated as a better prospect than Narcisse but so was Etling? And we recently had a guy named Zach Mettenberger who was a pretty good player too. Now it's not set in stone that Metts career will end up being better than Narcisse's but there's a 99.9999% chance that it will. Finally and the most comedic part of this post and post like it is the absolute confidence in what these posters are saying despite ZERO data or reality based opinion to do so. This fantasy that despite factual history Etling has no chance to win any meaningful games this season yet some true freshman who isn't considered by anyone to be a sure fire starter and who isn't even the best QB in his class on this roster will carry us to the expectations this team has. Lmfao lmfao lmfao!! I love this board.

Exactly!! Etling will start, there is no competition. Zero nada none.
