I tailgated at south stadium and highland yesterday. I do so quite often. Most of my friends and family went into the game. I stayed behind, watched the tv and cleaned up. As usual, folks started walking by, having left the game early. I probably asked 100 maybe more why they left. Probably 98 percent said "to get ahead of traffic". While I wasn't surprised, I'm puzzled that a little traffic jam causes people to alter plans to the extent of leaving so early. Of course it's gonna be a traffic jam! I wonder what other big league stadiums look like lately? NOTE. I politely told most of them that they should have stayed or given tics to a person who wanted to stay all game. The early leaving is weak and pitiful and selfish in my humble opinion

The early leavers are tarnishing Tiger Stadiums reputation and storied mystic. Pathetic.

If the night games are going to make people leave early, then play as many day games as possible. We're not gaining any advantage at night if most people leave early. Traffic has never been an issue for me. I come from out of town and spend the night at a hotel afterwards. Sometimes I go north and sometimes south out of campus. I always park according to the best traffic flow of where I'm going. It's never that big of a deal. The students is a whole different issue. They have no traffic concerns to speak of.

I will say that the student section was probably 50% filled in a tie game to start the 2nd half.

without getting into how ridiculous this is.. If everybody did that, the stadium would be pretty much empty at kickoff.

Tell me after Saturday if you feel the same.
People have been saying this for years and every time there is a big game where LSU has a chance to lose, that stadium is rocking and upholds its reputation. I.e. Ole Miss 2014, Florida 2015, etc.

If you leave early you really don't like football and are a Nancy bitch who is more concerned with the band's pregame. Once who make roll call....you head for early dismissal.

If you truly love watching football, and LSU football, you wouldn't want to be stuck in your fricking car during the third and fourth quarter of any game

Money g. Correct. I didn't go in the game. I volunteered to be clean up man. I've gone in my whole life and NEVER have left until the final whistle. In my eyes, not going is one thing. Going and leaving early is a whole other thing entirely

a little traffic jam

I stayed to the end last year at the Florida game. It took at least 2 hours to get out of the parking garage by the bookstore. I completely understand why people leave early. In fact, I let my season tickets go primarily for this reason. Home theaters are the way to go. No regrets.

I disagree Great Lakes. I could think of a few hundred folks ( just myself) who would "kill" for a ticket and you would have to frickin make em leave after the game

How far from the stadium do you live? Did you ask them what they had going on that night or the next day? Did they have kids? All of the years i lived in BR i never saw a "little traffic jam". I saw hours of a cluster frick. I was lucky enough i could walk to the games, but never once did i bitch and moan about people who may have other things to attend to and leave early.

They paid money for their ticket. A lot of them probably paid above face value. So why is it your responsibility to police them on their motives for leaving? You make judgements without even knowing anything other than one single response from these people. They probably told you that because they didn't want to talk to the attendance police who they were being interrogated by.

ETA second quote.

Most schools prefer day games because of this. Most schools are not in South Louisiana however.

Tkl so u gave up tickets and u would rather watch at home. That-a-boy! U did it right! Instead of ur seats sitting empty u hopefully put them in the hands of a fan who more fully appreciates the games for what they are -60 minutes of play time. Good for u sir

1) You didn't ask anyone anything

2) How in the frick are you puzzled that people don't want to sit on campus for 2 hours in traffic?

There's 2300 tickets for the Ole Miss game on StubHub alone. Almost 3000 for Bama. In addition, there's always tons of people with tickets in the air before any home game. Before they switched S. Alabama for Florida, there were thousands of tickets available for that one, with some of the upper deck tickets as low as $9.

This whole "the true fan has been locked out of the stadium" myth is stupid. There are plenty of tickets available to any game for people to buy at reasonable prices. Fact is, people just don't want to go for whatever reasons
