It faked Hawthorne out

Gotta love the guy and the way he calls the games but i could not listen to him for a whole game and understand whats going on in the game. Last night watching inside lsu football on one play jefferson gets the ball and rolls out to run the option and keeps it, Hawthorne says "jefferson completes the pass...no he keeps it and picks up the first down."

The same reaction I had when that punt bounced and hit Ron Brooks leg then found out he recovered it.

I almost had a stroke on that one.

you must be a very miserable person. do you just sit around all day and think of all the worst scenarios. it was a genius call at the perfect time. it was practiced and executed perfectly. the result- first and goal with bama on the ropes. they knew the weak side defensive end would crash down leaving peterson with green space for miles. negatiger you are. as for saban-

I was in the p!sser and then come back up the tunnel to hear all the boy scouts screaming, "they faked the field goal"...I said WHAT??? Why were we kicking a field goal. Then got to my seats to get the whole story. Bottom line, "I MISSED IT!!!!" Arrrrggghhhhhhh

Think about all the insane plays Miles has called that have worked out.

Using this word pretty much loads the point. If you think they were insane, then, yes, sooner or later they will catch up with you. His rate of success with unconventional calls (a far more objective term), however, suggests that "insane" is more than a little off base.

I usually do not listen to Hawthorne, but had to on this drive. He made a mistake on each play. This one had my head spinning. What did he see to possibly have him say "jefferson completes the pass...no he keeps it and picks up the first down."

agree... i always listen to hawthorn during the games while im there... i really think the man is losing his mind. i always defended him but he really is pissing me off with the crap that comes out of his head. and then, half the time, him and the other guy are arguing before, during and after a play. maybe its time he step down?

Did anyone else think that DP went out of bounds easily and could have either scored or almost scored but instead just kind of jogged out of bounds with a little contact from a MUCH smaller DB

I was in the south endzone with my dad and we both went nuts. On the pitch to Ridley I threw my hands up and then after the pitch to DP I kept them in the air and began jumping. I went 0-60 in like 3 seconds

On the Randle touchdown, did anyone else think the db for bama gave up on the play at the end? Looked like he could have tackled Randle with just a little more effort.
