You could argue very convincingly that he has had the player all along but he and/or Crowton go into a shell and severely limit the players abilities.

there is still enough doubt about the QBs' ability to lead a drive back, if the plays don't work, to limit chances taken.

I know Peterson is fast for a tight end but it sure seemed like he was running in slow motion on that play!!!!

He knew it would work then because of what 'Bama had been doing. Do you think Nutt and Petrino won't be coaching against that play?
Exactly. But what you're missing is the fact that they will HAVE to coach to stop that play. - - and it will make third and short a whole lot easier to execute.

I see Jefferson turn and toss it 7 yards back to Ridley and notice Bama has about 17 players crushing down on the line of scrimmage.

i was like lol wut at first and then deangelo peterson is fricking running down the field and i was like alright crowton, nice call there.

Hawthorne is the worst play-by-play announcer in college sports.

He is awful - I listen to him broadcast the game when I am watching TV because that way I do get a second or two heads up for an exciting play and won't be caught paying attention to something else.

But damn - the play he describes is usually quite different than the play that unfolds a couple seconds later =

"ridley for no gain" becomes - to my eyes on the TV - a great run through two tackles for a six yard pickup.

You can argue anything. Whether you are convincing or not, well that is a matter of opinion.

And I don't even consider it a "trick" play...it was pretty high %

they've been running that pitch on short yardage all year...it was sure to work. Im sure Bama has watched film. Best call of the year and maybe Crowton era.
