My first game in years, need advice

Hello. I will be going to the game this weekend with a friend and it will be my first game in years. It will be the first LSU game for my buddy. Traveling from Lake Charles so about a two hour drive. I know it's not a huge game in terms of who we are playing, but considering it's the home opener I'm sure it will still be busy on the roads. I'm thinking we will get there around noon and grab something to eat.
My questions are:
Where are some good places to eat that are rather close to campus? I like The Chimes. Walk On's is another option but we now have one in Lake Charles and I'm wanting something different.
Where would be a good place for us to park? And once we do park, should we just walk to where we need to go? We don't mind the walking if that would be the better option. Last home game I went to was years ago, and I think I remember parking somewhere along Nicholson near the golf course and we ate at Walk On's. But it's been a while so I am looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Chimes and Walkons are pretty much your only non-fast food, sandwich shop choices.

I would go to Parrains early then drive to campus.

Opposed to what? A jetpack?

I like Sammy's on Highlands. They will be packed so give yourself time. You will still have to drive to LSU.

Try to get there early and park at the law school. It's free and close to the Chimes.

Sammy's or Phils oyster bar. They both have TVs to watch. Sammys can be a zoo, but seems you will have time.
Since you don't mind walking and you know where the stadium is located, park anywhere you can fit in.

I would go eat at Mike Andersons off Lee drive and then go park in the back of the Golf course. Been eating at Mike Andersons before the game since the early 2000. He always puts a prediction score up on his sign. Back in the day would park off 30 but that is all blocked now

One thing to consider about parking is the direction you will be forced to go after the game. You will be directed away from I-10 in some parking areas. So familiarize yourself with Baton Rouge so you can find your way back to I-10 or consult this year's parking map so you can park in an desired area.

Go to Louie's Cafe 3322 Lake St. right near campus just as close as The Chimes.

Little known secret..parking on the north side.
Come in off Highland road from downtown and park near W. Roosevelt for $15-$20. Short walk to stadium or Chimes and after game can get out quick but have to go north on Highland then east on Washington to get to interstate. Can even wind around through the residential area north of campus and west of Highland to get in and out of there avoiding traffic.
Please keep this a secret

Wear comfortable walking shoes for the long walk. Enjoy the game.

If you are planning on going home after the game park by the softball stadium, take the exit to river road when leaving in the far right exit of the parking lot, contraflow will turn you right and go till you hit Nicholson and get on the bridge, learned this beginning of last year and it took me a total of about 30 minutes to get in my vehicle and make it to Livonia
Park anywhere in the yellow and exit where the red lines go, if you go to the exits to the left they will send you left and you will never get home, may as well go to Lebaurge and gamble your money away if you do!!!

Last year we did Pastime. They have parking and a shuttle on gameday. We didn't use the shuttle, but lunch wasn't bad.

I thought the concrete lot directly behind the field needed a pass, but i see that now, my bad!!! But you can still park in the hayfield lot and take the gravel road to that exit!!!!
