I really don't care who the announcer pulls for, but Musberger had several comments during the 'Bama game that made him seem to be favoring the Tide.

When the officials made the call when Reid intercepted the ball, he said "Oh NO!" and was clearly disappointed. He also let out a "YES!" when Ford stepped out of bounds in OT. Finally, he called the big pass to Shep right before the half as an interception and seemed disappointed when it became apparent that 'Bama had not intercepted the ball...

Is there any doubt about that? I've been assuming it would be him and Herbie.

Yep with Erin Andrews on the sidelines.

That was Verne Lundquist.

i wouldnt credit or discount any team on its first game of the year. lord knows lsu was lights out and had less better performances down the road and oregon looked helpless and had better games down the road. both teams had spotty performances in the middle to late season. i dont think oregon could give us any better of a game than they did in dallas. what are we talking about week 1 lsu vs week 13 oregon or something? lsu is better all around too.

Yes, Mussberger was pitiful in his remarks about Oregon/LSU. NONETHELESS. I would love to have been a fly on the wall of a crowd of Bammers watching the Rose Bowl and relishing in their reaction!

man, that's a little harsh and i don't like him at all. i agree that, other than bama, oregon may have given us a tough game. we only won by 13 and we gave up 27 points to them.

I remember thinking that Western Kentucky was giving us as good a game as Oregon had.

Mushburger (as he used to be called) was an idiot in the 70's, 80's and 90's. He graduated to bufoonery with the new millenium.

The Bama nation was crushed by that, and may never recover..

Yeah...but if you recall that last touchdown was scored very late. LSU called off the dogs in the fourth quarter, and that's where Oregon gained most of their yards and cut into the lead. You could not have watched that game and come away thinking anything other than Oregon being completely dominated by the Tigers.

Oregon was demoralized and crying, looking for any excuse.

Bama was indignant and crying, looking for any excuse.

Mucusburger should pay better attention to the sport he makes his living speaking about.

If there was anything good that came out of it, it's that it really pissed off my neighbor, who is a HUGE 'Bama fan.

Rodney Dangerfield said it best just can't get no respect. We go 13-0 and the teams we beat are felt to be better cause they had a bad night or their kicker just missed, or whatever. So now if there is a rematch with Oregon they are so improved they would beat us, i call BS.
Bama only legitimate contender since they hung with us till overtime, i still think we are going to beat bama in game of century part 2.

I don't think it's harsh at all.

Set aside whether Oregon gave LSU a game or not. The Oregon game is over with, they are no longer selling the Rose Bowl..they are now selling the BCS NC game. What could be the point of suggesting that Oregon gave LSU a better game than Alabama?

Now, as to LSU beating Oregon by 13...LSU, being as classy as they are let Oregon have their TD with 13 seconds left in the game. A 7 point score in a 40-20 football game with 13 seconds left is about as meaningless a touchdown as there can be. LSU doubled up Oregon when the game actually mattered, it was a non-competitive affair..the score was 33-13 heading into the 4th, and 40-20 with 13 seconds left.

If a fan didn't watch the game I could see someone making the mistake of thinking Oregon gave LSU a game.
