$1 million > anything LSU can offer
6'8 center for the next 2 years > anything LSU can offer

The rest is irrrelevant.

My original point about the towns is simply that Mulkey is NOT from BR, but from Hammond. She has no loyalty/ties to LSU just because she is from down the road.

She didn't even take the LaTech job that she was being primed for over the course of several years. Not to mention it was her alma mater and it was an elite program she was taking over.

She didn't take it because their offer was a ridiculous slap in the face. Tech fricked up bad with that move.

You are right about the Tech situation. She has made countless statements and shots at President Reneau about how he messed her over. I really hope LSU could convince her to come, but I really see her using LSU at this point to get more $$ in Waco given the fact the talent that she has returning and her daughter.

Although, LSU's women's team will be a good team next year I think. Guess we will see. The Louisville coach would be a great hire though.

Hopefully this won't drag on too long. And for those of you who say "who cares?", honestly it is LSU. I want us to win at marbles if we are playing it. Hopefully everyone wants all of our programs to be successful.

Mulkey's not coming here.............end of story.

However, I'm with you on the Louisville coach. I think that is a HUGE possibility. He'd be a great hire..............and they could probably bring him here for around $700K/year.

It's ridiculous that we'd waste that money on a sport that generates next to zero revenue while our mens program continues to suffocate to death.

Alleva sucks IMO.

+1 if it's true. I'm betting/hoping it's not true.

IMO, she ain't leaving Baylor for LSU. Baylor is a better team now and for the foreseeable future. Baylor has tons of money allocated for women's sports. A huge booster left quite a deal to the, specifically for women's sports.

It's wishful thinking on people's part.

would you rather pay Mulkey a mil and watch her every game or pay TJ the mil plus and have to watch him every week?

Better coach than the guy we pay $1.5 million/year

Women's basketball could end up with higher attendance than the men's team under Mulkey

I think she is from south la, not sure though. I'm not saying it will happen. When I asked my " source", she said no way in hell. The next day she text me and said is was much more possible after speaking to Mulkey. I don't think any women's coach should be paid close to that amount, but I'm not calling the shots. Ruston is too small, hard to recruit to, and can't afford her
.

I went to church with her father. She is from Hammond area. I know several people that grew up with her. She speaks rarely with her father and the ties here are not close. Any draw from coming back home so to speak does not exist.

You are absolutely correct. She would make us winners and pack the P-Mac. Build a winner at LSU and they will come.

They wanted her before they hired Van and she wouldn't leave, what makes you think she will now?

There is always a chance. Never say never my friend. What drives coach's? The challenge to build a program to the top level. Lets look at it this way, Baylor at the top level it is right now and then LSU being at the top level in Women's College Basketball. I think LSU would be a much bigger payoff in the long run. It is still Baylor no matter how you slice it up. Forget the players she has there right now, there are windows in College sports and you have to jump in them when that time comes. Her time is right now to jump in that LSU window. You think there will never be another 6'8 or so freakish player that will come around.

If and I say if we would get her, instant money baby!

Why would Mulkey leave a $1 m job on the verge of winning 3 national titles.

LSU would be foolish to pay a women's coach $1.5 m. Mulkey is using this as leverage to get a nice raise from Baylor. Seriously, its the only job she can play the "home" card and make Baylor up the ante.

What about Kathy Miles? Didn't she coach women's hoops?
