It's true. Our student section is juvenile, unoriginal and LAME. They also don't care how they are represented to the rest of the country, and won't listen to their own school's repeated requests to clean up their act.
This is because their sense of entitlement is out of control, to the point of believing they couldn't possibly be wrong about something.
But you can't move them. You can't take seats from them either. It's not right. They are the students at LSU. They deserve to be there.
But, like an earlier poster suggested, you can tax them. To whom much is given, much will be required. These kids are given plum seats in the lower bowl and immunity from reprimand for their tastelessness. In return, I say make them pay full price for tickets, in line with the other folks who sit in the lower bowl. And let them know exactly why they are being taxed.
Perhaps if the students have to work harder for the ability to attend games, they will have a greater appreciation for their presence there.
Currently, they have no respect for that privilege. It is simply one of many that they enjoy. That is why they abuse that privilege. It is CHEAP to them.

Public universities are completely privately funded. FACT!
No, but private money is being collected as we speak to help the university avoid massive cuts across the board. We're talking entire departments being dropped.

Ive never heard the chants on tv.... and the students at whisky are retards too.
showing vids of another university doing it dosnt make it anymore right or wrong!
any chant in unison that says suck dick, pussy, frick, is too far, the you suck chant was fine, thats students being students, the line is crossed when you go beyond the "bullshite" chant, and even it is prob a lil to edgey

LSU has just announced that starting in '11, there will be a $40/person surcharge for intoxicated people to enter the stadium.
There is another $50/person if you sit near a railing.

The student section, in its small capacity, is probably loud as the rest of the stadium combined. And you guys want to punish them? Cuz they curse? Other SEC teams will be laughing all the way to a W every time there is a 3rd and short on that side of the field or a late play in the game. Get over yourselves. We could cater to the guys who make more money and have a boring, slighly loud stadium, or let the hardcore fans stay and cheer their butts off. I talked a guy before the game this weekend who was planning on leaving before the first quarter ended. Thats what the older crowd brings. A big ole bag of nothing.

Ok so now we are back into the 70's where students were cursing at the games.. So how old is the OP in this thread again??
I'm not gonna give my opinion on this topic... but there is a difference between "kick their arse" and basically "suck our dicks".

Tiger stadium is the student section. Go ahead and get rid of it, see what happens. Just because you hate your life at home, doesn't give you the right to get on here and bitch weekly about something you wish you had or were... good day.
Wisdom you will learn my friend and I'm not old either grow up dude the real world awaits and it's not all purple and gold!!!

Wisconsin's chant is much worse and fricking organized at that

Like other schools, Badger fans perform a call-and-response chant before kickoffs; however, theirs is much more vulgar than many others. The most famous chant is between the upper classmen sections and the lower classmen in Section "O". During Steve Miller Band's Swingtown the song starts with a long "Ooooooh" which is followed a quick "sucks" by surrounding sections, then section "O" responds with a "frick You" then all sections reply with an "Eat shite." Despite attempts by administration to rid the stadium of this chant in order to provide a more family-friendly atmosphere, profanities still abound at certain points during the game.

Are yall in touch with ANY form of youth entertainment? You guys think its LSU students. It's millions of kids across the country. You guys should read the lyrics of the songs on the radio or watch an R movie these days.

I'm in college, so of course I like songs with profane lyrics, and movies with profane language.
I'm just saying, somebody was trying to justify it by saying that they cursed back in the 1970's by saying "kick their arse". Like I said, I don't really care what is said in Tiger Stadium.. but.. there is a big difference between "kick their arse" and "suck our dicks". One is obscene and vulgar, and one isn't.
I'm just saying, you can't justify "suck our dicks" because people used to say "kick their arse". I'm simply saying that it is dumb logic.

Maybe but the offspring they've managed to produce could use a few more arse whoopings.
I just wish my generation could live up to the proud reputation for youth that LSUdm21 laid down. THAT is how a human being is supposed to act.
Seriously, get out of here with that "my generation is better than your generation" crap. Some of the stuff that you say regularly was probably seen as vulgar 50 years ago. The times they be 'a changin.

I graduated from LSU 25 years ago. I come to the games, stand up and yell just as loud as you do.
The difference is, I don't yell about sucking dicks. I do say Kick Their arse, Go to Hell Ole Miss and boo at the officials.
When you say the older crowd brings nothing you're generalizing. I yell just as loud and as often as you do and I lose my voice as well.
So take your entitlement crap and shove it.

Just like yall generalize students are the only vulgar ones in the stadium.
The same people keep making these ridiculous threads and a common theme is "I can't believe these students defend this." Yet just about no one defends it. We merely acknowledge that it's not going to stop because one song stops getting played. Students will always curse (just like most of the non students as well).
People complaining that their kids shouldn't be subjected to it... be a better parent. Explain what can and can't be said. Years ago, my parents brought me to LSU v Ole Miss and we had tickets in the Ole Miss section. We lost, and heard all sorts of vulgarity. I was 7, and I turned out fine. Or you could opt not to bring them if you can't handle explaining something to your child.
Everyone I think can agree that we all know what is going to be the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium. If you can't come to terms with that, you really have no business going if you're going to make these same stupid arse threads every week for the rest of existence.
