No it didn't we lost two games and finished 4-4. Part of that Mathematical possibility required us to win out.

Dumb?
We have the highest paid staff in all of college football and haven't even been to the SEC in 3 years, now we're 4-4 in the SEC and playing on a Tuesday afternoon.

It isn't dumb, it's self-evident

anyone who thought this team was better than 8-4 after what was lost to the draft is dumb. Why don't yall sit the frick down and let these 18/19 year olds grow a little?

I was as frustrated as annyone watching the offense this year, but all you have to do is take a look at the SEC All Freshman team to know LSU has something special from the 2014 class.

I don't think 8-4 is what frustrated people the most. The fact that our QB play regressed during the year and our coaching staff did very little to alleviate the problem. It took 11 games before the staff finally spread the field and let Jennings use his athletic ability to pick up some easier first downs and keep the chains moving.

Defense was playing as good as anyone in the country by the end of the season and yet we were losing games 17-0 to 6-6 football teams. Yes, that is a legitimate complaint.

So up until we lost to Bama, we were competing for the Division title

Any chance the alleged regression was due to us playing better teams in the 2nd half of the season?

and if we do that vs ND and win we are 9-4 on the year with a bunch of teenagers at our skill positions. We need to just sit back, it'll happen. This team is a 10-11 win team next year and 2016. Bookmark it!

No, being 2.5 games back to start November in 4th place in the standings is not "competing" for a division title. Mathematical possibility is not competing for a division. We were labeled the team that can play "spoiler" as early as the middle of October.

What is worse is 2013 when we had 2-3 potential pro bowl caliber players on offense and we were out of before November.

I agree 100% and will be the first to call for staff changes if we see something similar next year. But I just don't see it. I called 8-4 in the preseason. We've all said 2015 was LSUs year to make some noise, and I still think it'll happen.

It's hard to have an NFL stacked offense and an NFL stacked defense full of veteran players in the same year. This team will have experience across the board next year, and will still be considered young because most of these guys will still only be sophomores.

Yes - Pretty apathetic attitude from the Top that Championships do not matter. Alleva is certainly overpaid for the mediocrity that he contributes to the athletic department.
The problem with Alleva and his attitude of excuses is that it permeates throughout the system and this season, we were not even in the hunt. Going forward, unless we get a QB that can pass, we will never be in the hunt either. Other SEC schools get better while we do nothing or wait until crisis level (like Stud who did not even recruit the best OL in the state) to elevate our program.
Last season should have been LSU beating FSU for the BCSNC but less than stellar coaching led to 3 losses despite an NFL offense.
Not even going to detail the ineptness of our coaching staff on 1/12.
Bottom line is that LSU is paying way too much $ for 3 and 4 loss seasons.

So when Alabama was trailing MSST in the standings they were not "competing"?

Don't worry someone will be here to tell you you're spoiled and unrealistic.

9 win seasons should be celebrated at LSU since we were so bad 15 years ago.

AL never got the living cr-p beat out of them this season let alone by Ms St, Au and Ark (of all teams).
We were fortunate not to have blown that AtM game and ended up with a losing SEC record this season.
We pay for getting the best results and it is SEC mediocrity right now. Guaranteed 3 losses a season with more at the current level of QB production going forward.
Ironic part is there is NOTHING that LSU can do about it right now. Not insinuating that Miles needs to go but bottom line is he could pull a 5 - 7 season next year and is not going anywhere.
We are really talking about a systemic problem in sports overall (College and Pro). You do not get compensated on current production but on a past glory.

Miles- Been at LSU 10 YEARS and still hasn't recruited a QB, if he has then he's overpaid cause he SURE hasn't developed them.

Point out the losses to me on next year's schedule. Keep in mind we beat Ole Miss and aTm THIS year and were a BS unsportsmanlike frpm beating Bama. We have more returning starters than anyone but Arkansas.

All 3 of those teams will be breaking in new QBs... and Auburn is early in the year.

And again. We beat Ole Miss this year with a putrid offense. What's your reasoning behind picking them next year without Wallace?

Jeremy Johnson is 3x better than any QB on our roster at this point. I wouldn't use the QB position as deal breaker. Defense and home field could be the difference.

What makes you think our offense will be good next year?
