Chavis deserves credit, especially with our offense not being able to move the ball, defense was on the field a lot of these seasons more than it needed to be, and came through a lot of times. But, if you want to avoid places like the Music City Bowl, you have scheme/execute at critical times and have stops to win big games. That starts with coaching.

He also had the benefit of the two best LSU offenses ever. So good for him, I guess.

Exactly, and with the players we've had on defense, who wouldn't look good. I mean shite,I don't think Lou Tepper could have screwed it up.

I agree but it seems his best game plans were against A&M. Oh and staying on topic, Bama 2012.

ABSOLUTELY FALSE.

The worst pro chavis argument there is. With by far our worst offense in his tenure we were top 5 in TOP this season.

Think of it like this, if Chavis was our DC in 2007, Tebow would have marched down field on that last possession and scored. We would not have held him on their side of the field forcing a hail mary throw.

That is an unrealistic scenario obviously, but I think it's an outside the box way to apply what happens with Chavis' defenses to our recent history. We fricking bleed TDs against two minute offenses and have the entire time under Chief.

list of pitiful defensive performances when teams score at will:

quote:

UNC 2010
bama 2010 - 1 minute TD drive
Ole Miss 2010
South Carolina 2012 - 1 minute TD drive
A&M 2012 - 1 minute TD drive
bama 2012 - two 1 minute TD drives, they won
Ole Miss 2012
Clemson 2012
Georgia 2013 - ended each half with TDs, they won
Ole Miss 2013 - Mett was awful, but we couldn't stop em, they won
bama 2014 - Butt fricked at home, same as 2012 he changed NOTHING
Notre Dame 2014

North Texas and fricking Towson drove the field with scoring drives on our 2012 defense.

2012 bama by far. Best football game I've ever witnessed in my life, unfortunately we were on the losing end of it.

2012 was probably a bigger defensive chokejob.
2014 was just crazy.
1st and goal at the bama 6 yard line with 1:13 to go.
We manage -16 yards and only run off 23 seconds.
kick the ball out of bounds.
Can't make one single tackle in bounds.
it makes me sick everytime I think about it.
