stats don't lie. Chief had us at the top overall. Only sucked on a lot of 3rd downs and melting at the end of critical games.

I'm going to have to go with 2012 Alabama.

Just because coming off the National Champ. Loss, this game was the one that would have put us still toe to toe with Alabama, saying, well...we got this one...back and forth.

Other candidates

2013 at Georgia
2014 Alabama
i'm too drunk to finish the list

frick, i'd already forgotten this one.

That Georgia game really screwed us last year. Would have really given us a boost in Sept to go the rest of the way with more confidence.

2012 Alabama was tough because I was there. LSU fought hard in that game and not only did Alabama have a last drive that won the game in the final minutes. They also ended the first half with a drive for a touchdown. So twice we were killed in the two minute drill. Final score was 21-17 and 14 of those points came in the two minute drill.

2012 bama. Not only was it the end of game break down but also a TD at the end of the first half.

14 out of 21 points in 2 minute drills

LSU had over 400 yards of offense 300 yards passing and controlled the ball for almost 40 minutes against a Saban coached team.

Win that game and we are in the National Championship.

2012 Bama by far. We win that and we probably play for a national title.

A&M 's defense will be an upgrade and will look good on paper/stats, but if the Aggies are expecting a Championship, they'll be disappointed. Especially if A&M's offense scores too quick, or not at all...defense will be on the field all the time. Should be interesting.

Alabama 2012

Didn't even force a third down on that drive.

We gave up like a 4th and 20 in the 2 minute drill which was depressing.

That was as much a turning point for LSU football as 1/9. Marked separation afterwards.

shite, i vaguely remember that now that you bring it up. Just a ton of meltdowns at Crucial times, absolutely killed us.

I know a lot of names are out there, ages of these guys vary.

But honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing a younger guy, down on the sidelines, that can fire these guys up, relate more to the players. Chavis is good , no doubt, but others are out there. I think we'll be ok. Just having the players and talent we have will help us of course.

wasn't mccarron like 1-7 for 7 yards in the second half of that game?

thats my beef...FFS keep doing what you're doing, there's a fricking reason they can't move the ball, now you're just inviting them to pile up chunk plays.

we almost fricked up the OM and TAMU games this year with that shite

Guys, y'all don't even count the times we had a two score lead with a couple of minutes left and we let the other team march down, score a td, the attempt and insides kick. I know this happened with A&M and South Carolina in 2012. Miss State was at the endzone in the same spot before the Loston pick 6.

His 2 minute defense is just plain bad.

The only good take away was that most Bama fans weren't around to see it because they left the game because they are the poorest, dumbest bunch of front-runners you've ever seen.

Very true.

Auburn 2010 is also a choice.

For the most part kept Cam/Auburn in check, but that late slip up got us beat. Offense played ok, could have used one more score, but on the road, needed that one more stop.
