I agree with some of those other years. 2006 was another year.

It's only considered a disappointment because people put all their eggs in a basket.
With Harris returning and Miles back, there was no way I had high expectations.
Therefore it's not a disappointment. More of a shame on the administrations part, the staff recruiting a QB the last few years and keeping a coordinator around that was terrible before we got him. I'm more disappointed in the powers to be for the last 5 years. It's hard to trust them moving forward as well.
Might want to put on a helmet because it could be a bumpy ride.

Faults senior year would be the one I'd put up against it

We need to face facts. This is now going to be a major rebuilding job for whoever the new coach is. The offense has been bad for most of a decade. There is about to be a talent exodus on the scale of post 01/09. The list of juniors alone will be huge. Fournette, Adams, Godchaux, Dupre, maybe more... The DC and his staff are the only part of the staff worth keeping.

I guess you forget 2013 when he had an Nfl all star team on offense. We should have destroyed everybody

Faulk's senior year in 1998

This one is the most disappointing. Pre-season Top 10 and didn't even make a bowl game. Even our wins were embarrassing.

It has been the second most, Faulk's last year was a disappointment.

The good side is that LSU got to evaluate/interview a potential HC by having him coach the meat of an active schedule.

There are three others in my 'football lifetime' that surpass this one on the disappointment scale:

1) '74 - preseason #9, finished 5-5-1
2) '89 - preseason #7, finished 4-7
3) '98 - preseason #7, finished 4-7

I can't think of another season where we've been so talented at so many positions

We are talented at rb and defense. The wr corp and oline havent played to what we thought they would.

Also losing 2 games in 2007 with that talent was more upsetting to me.

Our defense sucked. We scored 40 points and lost.

And on no way is mett a nfl qb.

If Aranda stays, I would expect our D to be even better in spite of the losses. We'll have a NC quality D.

And there will be a lot of talent on the O side as well. We simply need to find an approach/scheme on O that will utilize it to its full potential.

Mettenburger is the best QB we've had here in a decade. And LSU doesn't need an NFL QB, which he was. But they had two all pro NFL WR's and a good RB. They should have put up 40+ every game.

1983 was extremely disappointing.

Came off an 8-3-1 record in 82. Preseason #12 in 83, finished 4-7. Got Stovall fired.
