Morris CLaibourne is the TRUTH

I was told by Ron Brooks that this guy is super fast he burnt one of the DB's and they swith him to defense then he shut down terrance tolliver. He was the most underrated player coming out of High School 3 star and he will probably be the one of the best freshmen this year

Any idea which side of the ball he's ulimately going to stick on?
Also, did you get any other tidbits from Ron?
I do like Claiborne a lot. He was definitely a better prospect than Kenny Bell.

one of the creditable poster here saw him at a game few days back, he looked thin and will have to add weight. probably will red shirt but potential is there

That's so ironic because thats who Morris reminds me of is Ron Brooks.

no offense to lynxcat, but watching guys play softball says very little about their football abilities.
i appreciate the info, but he def made it sound like it did when he was posting. saying things like "no way he'll play this year" and stuff like that.
come on, it was a softball game, and they were in shorts and Tshirts

Doesn't sound like good news for our receiving corp imo.

Ehh ... he was only a 3 star. We could have done better.

He was just mentioning how they look physically.

When Claiborne was noticeably smaller than all the other players there, then it was a pretty good indication that he needs at least a year in the weight room.
He is cut but has very little muscle mass at this time.
To make a comparison..Russell Sheppard, Ryan St. Julien, Rocky D., Brandon Taylor, Jai Eugene, etc all looked 'bigger' (muscle mass) than Claiborne.

If true, then that is pretty damn impressive since TT has an easy 3-4 inches (He's a little taller than I expected, I would say about 6'4 1/2) and is a lot stronger than Claiborne.
May also be important to know if it was just one play or he was able to do this consistently. Many DBs can stop a guy once, but it only takes one time of them getting burned for them to get noticed.
I am not saying I don't believe you, but it is hard to believe.

he commented on a few that they wont play this year or how they look clumsy and such or how they need another year in the weight room.
just hard to tell from a softball game. Thats all.
Claiborne by all accounts will play CB or WR. He doesnt need to be jacked up.

is Rocky D...gonna be a Safety or LB?

Lester, when you can compare what some JR and SR starters look like and then look at the incoming freshman--it is not that hard to tell who is physically ready and who is not. Especially when you are literally 2 feet from the whole team and you are getting a good look at them.

He doesn't need to be jacked up right now, but he needs to add strength. He looked liked one of the smaller players on the team muscle mass wise.
I am just as big of a Morris Claiborne fan as anyone on the board, but I am just calling it as I see it.

Rocky should be at Safety unless something has changed.

k...just heard that he working with the LBs didnt know if there was any validity to it? thanks

even most FR that play arent comparable physically to JR and SR's

you dont know how strong he is by just looking at him.

I know, and im not bashing you at all. I enjoyed that thread a lot. The guy in this thread just said "likely redshirt" because of what you saw at a softball game. Which i just think is silly.

he's got that kevin durant look?

Let me also say that i'm pretty excited about morris after watching his highligt real someone posted after he committed. i had one of the guys i worked w/ who was on the team raving about brooks after spring of last year and his ability to cover the veterans in drills, yet he still never saw meaningful duty as a db. it takes time for these guys to develop. to say the guy is gonna be our best freshman after making a few good plays in 7 on 7 is a little premature

I think all his comments were based solely on if they are physically ready to play.

He also can't be 6'0 165-170ish and not expect to be abused by a physical WR with him at CB or to be a serious injury waiting to happen if he played WR on offense.
