Heard that shite before. First it was JJ and JL. Now it is the current two; one of which is not an SEC caliber QB and the other who apparently hasn't gotten his head out of his arse yet.

We can always talk about "potential", but what looks good on paper, in practice, and in spring games (i.e., playing with yourself) does not necessarily translate into wins one the field against top level competition.

If he would have gone 10-14 for the same amount of yards Les would have been jizzing himself.

I think the problem might be with fans thinking Harris was the best overall quarterback in the country for some reason.

1 thing I don't think there is much debate about is that Jennings is the worst overall QB in the SEC.....for some reason

The "competition" that miles is referring to is a private game he plays in his head. The QB players play until miles feels justified in picking the guy he singled out from the start. For example, if BH sucks in practice and miles starts AJ, BH would have "won" the competition because he provided the quickest route to starting Jennings.

You guys thought it was a test of athletic merit?

Miles said he wanted Harris to be in the QB battle, but he never saw the right opportunity to look at him in practice.

Yeah, only the head coach can make that call.

what a generalization. there is nothing wrong with LSU's "system". we don't have a QB that can execute the passing game. so what would you do? just let 'em throw picks all day?

There is one person and one person only who is responsible for BH not starting and that's BH

You can bash Les over this all you want but it just makes you look foolish

There is truth here. Miles is one of those coaches that thinks change = inconsistency and that it is some sort of mental shock to his team to make such a change. And it's centered around the QB position. It's almost a mental block for him. Maybe he saw a team revolt with a QB change one time or something. But he needs to shake this.

I wish he would treat QB's like the RB's. Whomever practiced harder/better and whomever is hot, get's the go.

We've heard this so many times, and if it's ever been true I don't remember it. Coach Miles needs a vacation away from football and have a real, deep self-examination. Maybe he could read the articles written about him and his quarterbacks/offense, or better yet watch his post-game pressers, especially the one where with a look of deep disappointment he said,"There'll have to be some change there". Sad, very sad.

If he's telling the truth, he's an idiot for not getting Harris reps when AJ stunk. If he had ANY inkling that Harris might be the guy next year, not getting him reps was rank incompetence.

Absolutely. Unless Harris has "developed" into incompetence. But that would never happen at LSU!

As unfortunate as it is, his legacy at LSU will be defined for his desire to be "right" more than successful. Saban and Nussmier basically instilled an entire new offense for the championship game, then Saban did it again when he moved on to Kiffin and another new offense.

MIles is driven more by pride and wanting to be right than being successful and his pigheadedness will ultimately define his days in Baton Rouge.

Miles MUST say it's open. Do you realize how fricked we are if Harris transfers? Our QB situation would make the Hallman era look like the golden years.
