“We try to give them those things that we feel like they’ll be successful with. Sometimes certain sets benefit certain guys and certain experiences similarly. I think you’ll see more of Michael Ford. I keep saying that, and I mean it. It’s not that I’m not seeing that. I would like to get Michael Ford on the field for some carries here as we go forward.”

He does keep saying that.

Which is why people keep harassing him about Ford.

He wasn't asked directly about Ford, but chose to bring him up on his own.

same shite as last year with why RS didn't play more. He digs his own grave with these comments... He's the head man, if he wants him in there, he'll play. Bottom line. I'm not buying all this I don't know why he didn't play more BS.

Maybe with Blue's fumble again last game, Ford may get his chance.

If he benches Blue, he better be prepared to bench Ridley as well. And wait for it....

Jefferson better get benched because he fumbled twice at Vandy.

Blue has 2 fumbles on 10 touches. I'm sorry, that's a different ballpark of fumbling.

I'm not impresssed with Blue. Looks ok running straight ahead through a big hole but doesn't look particularaly shifty, or tough enough to break tackles.

And the Fumbles are a huge problem. That guy should sit for a while before sniffing the field again.

Fumbles are fumbles. As the head coach, all players must be held to the same standard. Dissension will start if he treats the players differently.

Yes, the other 4 RBs have fumbled 6 times, I would try him too. What is Miles waiting for?

My thoughts are that he doesn't say a lot about WHY Ford isn't getting his carries now. I still believe that it may have something to do with off the field issues, (maybe like either school or even some injury/rehab. work he needs to finish) and he DOES keep bringing Ford into the discussion as a means of "encouraging" Ford to do whatever it is he needs to do and get his chance.... wants the player to know he's got a place to play as soon as whatever is going on is cleared up...

This. He knows he is a fan favorite. But Blue and Ware are getting more touches. There is just a lot of competition for that position.

We heard similar BS about Russell Sheppard last year. Keiland Williams wasn’t good enough for Miles but amazingly he made the Washington Redskins roster. Miles’ press conferences and radio show are just that…a show

Why can't he just stop with the first line? Just say we are playing the players and plays that we think will give us the best chance to win.

When he goes and says
quote:

I would like to get Michael Ford on the field for some carries
he sounds like he is not in control.

Hope we don't have to wait until Oct. 16 to see more of Ford. I think Blue took a step back vs. MSU & hopefully, this will open the door for Ford. Blue has potential, but hasn't shown us he's ready for that much playing time yet. If Miles feels Ford shouldn't be playing much because of off the field things, then why can't we see Ware? He hasn't had a fumbling problem in limited action.

I think Miles sometimes misses the point because he is so worried about game planning. Some things can't be planned.

Do you think Shaun Alexander was even in the game plan that year in Tiger Stadium when he was the third string RB? If not for injuries we wouldn't have seen him on the field. He had his practice cleats on because they were more comfortable than the game cleats.

Sometimes you have to unleash great atheletes and let them make things happen. I think that is one of Miles mistakes. Put all those guys on the field and see what they do.

Say Amen to that...you are right on. Blue will be just like Murphy..play a little bit and do nothing. Blue hasn't impressed me either. He is one of Les-ticles boys now just like Murphy and JJ. I do not see Ford playing until McNeese and ULM. I am waiting for those games; but with Les-ticles you never know, he just may not play at all. Please anybody tell me...how can you be MVP of Spring Game and don't play until mop of duty is avaliable.

I swear I didn't understand a word of that statement, but it sounds like something he would say!
