If your going to run the option your increasing the chance your QB is going to get hurt. It is stupid not to get your backup some meaningful game experience.

I really do not think Miles is stupid.

But it is very hard to argue that he does some really stupid looking things at times. Decisions that really are hard to understand.

What I think is that he is too stubborn and inflexible to make changes when his first decisions prove to be wrong.

That is what seperates a good coach from a great coach - the ability to make changes and good decisions in the heat of battle.

People need to quit posting that we can't afford to buy him out because its complete bullshite. We could buy out his full buyout if we had to but we don't.

When miles allowed ncaa violations to occur on his watch he opened the door for him to be fired with cause. We will settle out of court with him for around 5mil. You telling me LSU can't afford 5mil, child please.

Kinda makes anyone with any common sense ask you where all these wins, rankings, and championships came from, but I realize your opinion comes from your take on things.

Les does not learn from his mistakes.

he made a rational decision. he decided that they would work with JJ to improve his deficiencies from last season and, with the emphasis on the run game, we would have an adequate offense.

we had a rough start, and he realized JJ needed all the game reps. Because he kept struggling, it became more imperative to work with him in game conditions.

he's not stupid, but it looks like he was wrong to put all of his eggs in one basket. he has not given his other option any meaningful playing time. now you might question how smart that was, but Miles still thinks JJ will come around.

He is gambling an awful lot, IMO. if we lose 3-4 games this year he will not lose his job, but he will lose a large portion of the fanbase.

With each game where he doesn't give Lee meaningful time, it means he is closing the door on that option, and is even more committed to JJ.

Maybe he is stupid, after all, to put all the marbles on one 19 year old kid.

pretty logical thought, BUT JL has a fair amount of experience, so its not like a greenhorn. sure it was rough experience but the "door closing" arguement is not too strong.

Perhaps, but he did change out DC's pretty quick and he did bring in fresh blood to the O staff and he did try 3 QB's in 08 before settling on one.

Not saying you are wrong. I just don't know.

Except when he talks, manages the clocks, lists out his 'wants' like he has no control over it.

Maybe we can have a deputy sit beside him and guide him ala Ole Miss.

Every coach has to do this at times. The difference is do they pick the right one to do it with.

2) We don't get Lee valuable reps. Something last year we needed (see Alabama).

Let's hope it is not to late to get Lee some reps before the "meat" of the schedule. The QB from NCarolina had a similar experience that JLee had with interceptions and a disgruntled fanbase, but has turned the corner and is looking much better.J Lee has improved in the small amount of time we have seen him, his release is much quicker than his freshman year and his passes are crisper.

P.S. If he loses 4 games in the SEC he is gone i'm pretty sure he's back next year. too much potential to change horses in midstream. i think it's safe to say Crowton would be gone and we'd better get that junior college transfer QB. I think, if possible, they need to relax JJ and convince him to have fun.

This. If we lose 4+ games or if we lose all three UF, Bama and AR for the third year in a row I believe that Crowton gets the ax (in a Malaveto replacement sort of way) and we get a new OC. Those of you who think Miles will get fired with 4 or even 5 losses are delusional. He has a very high winning percentage compared historically to other LSU coaches.

Nah - this fanbase will change direction on a dime if the offense comes around.

what i'm thinking is that Lee would then get thrown in under extraordinary pressure without having had any recent game experience - not a great recipe for success.

It definitely won't happen this year ... unless the team finishes 4-8 (which it won't).

Stinks of jealousy IMO. It sucks when someone you think is an idiot has forgotten more about football than we'll ever know.
