Hell. I hope Miles stays at LSU for the next twenty years.
I wouldn't be soooo ambitious just yet piggy. If I were you, I'd be happy just having my coach stay for more than 2 years.

Based purely on talent, there is no way Arkansas should have beaten LSU. This season, or last.
Seriously? Arkansas had the ability to beat any team in the country on any given day last year with the talent you guys had in the backfield.
At what point in the future do you think Arkansas will have MORE talent than it did last year?

Hey SugarBeauxl... I am pretty sure that was sarcasm.

But,that doesn't mean I think he should have a short leash in 2009. No corrections in 2009 will mean a short, real short leash in 2010,though.
I have several major concerns because of this year though. How in the world could Les be so wrong on these two guys? What were his reasons for being so comfortable doing it and how could he be so wrong? And based on this decision, the last for games of the season were utter disarray. If even half the crap that was rumored to be going on behind close doors with this team is true, it should make people nervous enough to really want some true change. With the co DC promotion some people are a little nervous about how Miles will go forward.
And to you original post...I really don't have any need to see another year like this. If there are some improvements and we lose some close games, okay, it's the SEC. If there is a reoccurence of this year, I don't believe he should get till 2010.

Thanks for picking up on it Phil. Didn't think it was too unclear. But hey, I like the perspective Beauxl.

oh,by the way we shouldn't have lost to Tennessee in 2005 or Auburn in 2006.
we shouldn't have lost to Kentucky or Arky last season either. not only should we not have lost but they neither of those two teams should have been able to stay on the field against us.
It's all about getting your team to play 4 quarters rather than just going through the motions until the final drive. that bad habit, allowed to foster, led directly to the results of this season big guy

Assuming that LSU did in fact lose because they just "went through the motions" against Arkansas and Kentucky, which I strongly disagree with, how exactly did that "habit" lead directly to us getting shite stomped by 3 teams that are better than us and losing in overtime to the #1 ranked team and only undefeated BCS team in the country?

Stop believing everything you hear on ESPN. Turn off the television and pay attention.

i wont be happy until his tenure ends because he is still trying to call timeout from that game last year....or was it 2 years ago?
Posted on 12/2/08 at 2:55 pm to NorCalHog
All Miles needs is a compentent DC to right the ship. He would have beat UGA, OM, Arky with one. Bama could have went either way. Why is it everybody believes that he is going to suck just as much with a better DC?

I heard he was the coach of Atlanta on ESPN last year and come to find out he wasn't, so I stopped believing stuff I saw on TV a long time ago. (Oh yeah, and Les is headed to Michigan)
I was just making assumptions based on past experiences and character traits. That's all.

Dammit. You're going to make me read through the Score Board again?
Just go over there, start on page 23 and work your way backwards.

Is that rhetorical, or do you really not know what you're talking about. Did you just read someone's comment on here and now say that even though you don't actually know what happened.
If you do know, and post the correct answer, my apologies.

And the reason Arkansas didn't, now resides in Oxford Mississippi, and is settled in for another run at mediocrity.

At runningback? Hell. Probably never. McFadden, Jones, and Hillis, are a once in a generation backfield for any team. Name any team that will have that much talent on an offense anytime soon.
But you've helped me with my point. As long as Les Miles coaches at LSU, LSU will remain beatable by better SEC coaches even with lesser talent.

That happens with every coach. I seem to remember Petrino losing to teams that he had more talent than when he was at UL. It happens.
And if Les can get a PROVEN DC, then the team will be much improved. What do people not get about this? It isn't rocket science. Kicked our starting RSJR QB off the team before the season, and had two frickS as DCs who didn't have shite for experience. That summs up our problems.
One problem he couldn't do anything about after UNTIL after the year, but recruit more QBs. (Which Miles has done.)
The other problem is fixable also. (Which hopefully is in the process of fixing.)

Your post makes absolutely no sense. You say that Arkansas had a "once in a generation" backfield in one sentence, then claim that LSU was clearly more talented and should have won without a doubt in the next sentence. I don't get it.
Oh yeah, and can you please name one coach in the history of college football that has never lost to a team with supposedly less talent. Thanks.
