The fans have unrealistic expectations for this program, the other teams wanna win too, Lol. I'm not being sarcastic when I say that we are just not a very good team. We have a better than average coach, and average talent on the field.

National Championships spoil fans. Coach Miles does things, and says things that are mind boggling, but he wins more times than not.

The fans and boosters will likely get their way, but I don't think the next LSU coach will compile a better win/loss record than Miles.

J.D Moore wasn't the only injury. Players played through injuries that depth would have allowed them to sit out of. But go ahead with your premise.

Why can't he just admit we played like crap in all three of those games, that we have huge problems that must be addressed, and not just a tweak here and there and a healthy fullback and we'll be fine?

Be honest, is there anything he could say that would compel you to start a thread to praise and respect this man as a coach? Don't lie either.

I'm not surprised. Les just doesn't get it. I'm indifferent to it now.

No matter how bad you fools on this board want to, it is impossible to win the national championship every year

It is, however, possible to put yourself in position to win the conference and not melt at the back end of the season (which too often happens)

the problem with fans like you is that you're right and you're wrong. The thing is that people understand that championships cannot be won every year. But any one who knows anything about competing at a high level of sport can see the glaring difference in the performance of well-oiled teams, who are consistent, and those who play mostly on emotion (and are consistent in making boneheaded mistakes)

What I want him to say is "our approach to offense must change because it consistently falls short against the better teams in our league."

I agree, Williams at FB and Weathersby/Malone at TE/glorified OL. To get your teeth kicked in three times in a row and never try something like this, is a prime example of why many fans believe basic decisions that a top 5 program coach makes are just not being made.

After the last several years? I actually don't. It's consistently been the same issue year after year after year after year.

Different players, coordinators, etc... Same head coach. There's something he's not seeing, and he's not heeding the advice of his staff around him that does see it.

Miles pointed out that the losses the team sustained were against some of the best teams in the league and that if they had not had a series of injuries the outcome might have been very different

The fact that the offense went in the crapper when a blocking tight end and a walk on fullback were injured is precisely the problem.

Same as the QB bullshite of the last 10 years--recruit to a pro style power-I offense if that's what you run. Don't have recruiting classes with 10 WRs if only two see the field 75% of the time.

this is not a slight at JD Moore in the least. But my goodness, has a team bemoaned the loss of a fullback more than we have since the early 50's?

I'm not going to bad mouth Miles on this board as he is the coach of LSU.....however I will state some facts.

A) Nobody on this damn board knows what he says to his players behind closed doors.

quote:

Not sure why you need him to tell you this.

B) Other coaches do it all the time.

quote:

Do you truly think he believes every thing is peachy?

C) All we can honestly speak to is what he is saying. He is telling us that the bowl game in Houston, TX on Dec. 29th is a quality postseason game to play in and that if we wouldn't have had some injuries we would have done better. We can't honestly know for certain if he believes other stuff needs to be fixed because he hasn't told us anything to that effect basically other than some minor offensive tweaks. We do know that, so far, no coaching changes have been made....so I think that, if that continues to be the case, we can obviously infer that he thinks all of our coaches are doing a pretty good job and should remain employed on his staff.

That is what we know. Anything else anyone says is basically opinions and what they think is the case.

I don't think he does. Face it, Les Miles is a clown who has no clue what is going on with this football team. Perhaps him keeping his job by the skin of his teeth will make him change his philosophy, but don't count on this to happen.

No, but you should not, under any circumstances, get beaten down by three touchdowns to ole miss and get pounded in the rear-end at home by a very mediocre Arkansas.

This is the first time in the Miles era that we've really been blown out of games

With the defense we'll be fielding next year and the inevitable similar offense we'll field, don't expect next year to take that sting away.

Is JD Moore really the glue that held this entire team together?

We need more fullbacks and tight ends on scholarship. We only have about 9 of them so when we lose the starter we are only left with 7 or so scholarship fullbacks and tight ends.

Because he is the Head Coach and public face of the organization and doesn't have the latitude to whine and cry and bash his team/organization every time the whim suites him like some fricking crybaby poster on Tigerdroppings.

How about he just says " I can assure you that you will see a creative , disciplined offense from here on out." I think a simple statement like that would please a large portion of the fan base.
