i wasnt referring to their o line. they have been less than stellar this year. im talking about their d line, assface. their d line talent is nfl caliber. (as will be seen in the draft). they have amassed so much defensive talent and depth that it is hard to sustain continued success against their front. our did well until they were gassed. multiple #1 recruiting classes make a difference. go back and read slower. left to right.

Better get used to this. Les will never change, still coaching in the 80's.Run off left tackle, pass to the short side of the field.

I'm a Les fan. I generally support him when he's bashed on here. I think he's the most successful coach LSU has ever had. Obviously, Saban is overall a more successful coach but he didn't enjoy the same success at LSU. The point is, despite my respect and appreciation for the man, I've come to realize that he will never change. Just couldn't believe it when they asked him if he'd consider a strategy change and he was like "well we ALMOST won like 2 or 3 times so no." That shite is beyond frustrating. Lesser power 5 teams have beaten better Bama teams than this one over the past five years.

Miles will not change or adjust the offensive philosophy he learned. He is not an adaptive coach. He runs only what he was taught at Michigan and there is nothing more upstairs. Sorry that's the honest truth.

If you want a new offensive game plan, there is no choice but to change out the coach. As long as he can produce 10 wins by having more talent than 10 out of 12 opponents he is here to stay.

If you think Les is going to tell the media, "yeah, we can't beat them, so we are going to change our strategy." I don't think he will change, but if he does, he's not going to announce it.

ETA: I thought the overall thought on tRant was not to listen to anything he says at a presser? Some of y'all get mad when he doesn't say what you want to hear.

Unfortunately this is the case. Get used to a bunch of mediocre feel-good bowl games and no playoffs. The rest of the SEC is becoming more modernized while Alabama still makes the playoffs in their "down" seasons. Meanwhile, we'll continue to run an offense that even Bo Schembechler would feel is dated.

At least basketball is about to start up.

Saban's defensive plan for LSU is the same plan it's been for years now and it fits on a post it note. It simply says, 1st down= run blitz, 2nd down= run blitz, 3rd down= pass blitz, 4th down= punter return team.

If he didn't learn after 1/9/2012 (he didn't), then he isn't learning now. If it took him 4 years and 5 losses to learn this lesson, then LSU is the fool for not only keeping him, but extending him and giving him a raise.

no question we looked over matched, but i think what he was saying is if the play calling would have changed to loosen the defense up it might have looked different... But it is flat out asinine to run the same fricking thing over and over and over believing a different outcome.. That is shitting on all the hard work the players put in...

So when we were up by 3 last year with 50 seconds left in the game it was Miles' offensive philosophy that lost us the game?

We were at home and that Alabama team, especially the D, wasn't as good as this years.

The lack of offensive creativity and no adjustments is what pisses most people off, me included.

Saban has won as many championships l, both national and SEC, and as many BCS bowl games in his 5 years at LSU as Les has in 11 as of now.

People claiming Les' tenure has been more successful really have no concept of what winning a title means.

We had over a month to prepare for 1/9/12 and he did nothing. It's like when you give him extra time to prepare for Bama, he freezes like a deer in headlights

There's no reason Miles can't take a blue print from Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Utah and any team that has put 30+ points on the board and implement that into a game plan specifically for this game.

Wow, are you kidding? Who's gonna run that offense, the QB who changed the tide of the game by throwing an interception on the very first play of the second half? Completely missing the receiver (or throwing into double coverage, you pick) on a roll out pass to the flat that is one of the most basic passes in college football and what is generally considered a "safe" pass? That QB is going to run the kind of offense Ohio State runs?

This team is not Ole Miss (thank God!) nor Ohio State or Utah. It's built entirely different and, unfortunately, the strength of this team was matched up against the strength of Bama and Bama won the battle.

. Nope. It should have been 1/09/12. But he didn't learn. Since he didn't learn after that absolute soul ripping catastrophe, he's not going to. LSU's soul has been ripped out since then and with every Bama loss since we kicked back down to the ground.
