I, like everyone else, would love to see a high flying wide open offense. we would score more points but also turn the ball over a good bit and take a lot of negative plays that would get us beaten.

Miles summed it up in his post game presser. We have significant advantages on the defensive side and disadvantages on the offensive side of the ball. The priority is to eliminate turnovers and take the ball away. pound our running game and controlled passing game. if we do that it gives us the greatest chance to win every game on our schedule.

its not sexy and it won't light up the sportscenter highlights but it is the proven recipe for a team with this makeup to win.

They did it in 2011 they surely can do it again. It's a winning recipe.

agreed. I know I don't want to see Jennings chucking it up 25 times a game. he will throw at least 2 picks doing that.

I agree on the strategy but after some point in the game its not working you have to change strategy.

Can we not see the offense we saw at the end of 2011? Please.

Until Jennings can show some ability to throw short passes, and complete a frickin' screen, this has to continue.

I really dont' want to see Jennings throwing the ball much on the road against SEC teams. at Florida and Aub are going to be games where we cannot afford to turn it over and let their fans go in a frenzy. ground and pound all day and win it in the 4th quarter with our defense and ground game.

You mean like in the 2nd half of the Wisconsin game?

How exactly is it not working?

The way I look at it, most of our toughest opponents have explosive offenses, and will want to maximize chances on that side of the ball. Our strategy is to disprupt opponents rhythm by minimizing their chances on offense, as well as opportunities to make big plays on defense. There might be crying on the rant, but I believe we executed more or less exactly what we set out to do last Saturday.

If Jennings could hit a screen, short and intermediate pass, fans wouldn't be worried. As long as those chains are moving, all is good. So far Jennings looks like Jefferson in the passing game but a way better decision maker and leader. I think Jennings will turn out to be a lot better than Jefferson as a passer and I think it'll be sooner rather than later.
I don't think the TE's will be used much this weekend bc Miss St's DLine is their strength. I do think we will use them against Auburn though bc they done have Lawson and we will need points to win. I think our passin game will come alive against Auburn and we will see what our offense can really do then. We can live off our D and runnin game until Auburn.

I don't need to see a pass happy offense. I would just like to see us line up at least 2 wide receivers to spread out the defense and keep them honest. Jennings has been pretty good at making safe passes so far.

In 2008 we used to line up with no running backs in the backfield. Now we line up with almost no passing threat. Something in the middle just might work, you know?

Until Jennings stops locking in on one receiver, I really don't want some wide open offense. I do think more read option, including throws from that look would be successful.

I bet we run screens and complete short passes in practice. Still need to work on them in games.

I dont need to see a high flying offense. Just not one that is totally predictable with inferior players just bc they fit the predetermined role.

We can still have a conservative offense but still utilize our superior talent. Putting guys like Neighbors, Jeter, and Moore on the field in lieu of Magee, Diarse, Williams is the issue i have.

This is a fair criticism. We dropped a few short passes on Saturday and just decided to stop, rather than give those guys more reps to make up for it.

I think we will get the screen game going. Cam had to have a good screen game with the Ravens (I am guessing). We will hit it in a big game and completely catch the defense off guard.
