I guess I am very disturbed about this sitaution but will refrain from forming concrete conclusions until a little more details come out. In my opinion, based on the hype and general good comments made by posters as well as coaches about Garrett, that the guy had a good future. I really expected him to be nurtured and put in a situation to succeed such as occurred with Flynn, as a senior starter. In my opinion, both JL and JJ were forced to play before either was ready and both have had trouble overcoming the shock of playing in that situation. I was hoping that Garrett would be the first one since Flynn who was brought along correctly and put in a situation to succeed. However, that possibility is now gone. I cannot see how this will not damage our future success, but as I said earlier, I need to see some more details about this very strange development.

He probably wanted to leave because he has not had a coach since he got here.

but honestly if Zach Lee stays a Tiger then this situation isn't really that big of a deal, as long as we get a couple of arms in this Feb.

we've missed on all the major QBs this year so far

and our depth was bad with CG. it's horrible now

If it was Miles decision to cut Garrett, knowing what we know at this moment, it was a wreckless move

year ain't over yet. and this might change our appeal to QBs looking for an early shot.

I don't get how Miles is to blame. I thought CG came to Miles and wanted to be released. Miles being the guy he is, granted it. If Zach Lee stays, wish after this shite he might get playing time this year and maybe start next year, this guy could Patrick Peterson hype.

there isn't an "early shot" for QBs

we still have JJ/JLee for their true freshman year and zack lee (unless he doesn't come here) for years after that

that's 1 story. that is the LSU spin, so i'd wager it's assuredly not 100% accurate

there are other stories/rumors which involve a straight release by miles

So the Ryan Perrilloux excuse card can no longer be played. (For all those who said our QB problem has been because Miles ran him off). Clearly Miles has difficulties managing playing one while preparing another.

it is inexucusable for LSU not to be able to recruit a damn strong QB. To put all your money on a kid projected to be a early round pick in the BB draft is stupid. Crowton is a dumb frick and until he is gone we are going to go through the same shite we did last year regardless of the circumstances for losing GG. If he was worth a shite he would still be on the team.

I'm not real happy w/ this kid leaving the program, but hey, ces't la vie. When Les Miles was hired 5 years ago, I predicted that he would eventually bring us back to the middle of the pack. This is just another step in the process.

Bottom line: my expectations for this year really aren't all that high anyway, so this isn't much of a disappointment.

this stuff doesn't worry me about 2010 and 2011

it's 2012 and beyond that scare me now. miles may not even be here and a new coach may inherit a paper thin QB stable

I think this is exactly what may happen.

Whoever is here is probably going to have to go the JUCO route in order to even acquire a game-ready QB.

This.... I have supported Miles simply because he is our coach and so on, but I posted at the end of 2008 that Crowton would be Lou Tepper to Miles and if he is to blind like Dinardo was then he needs to go. The problem is I can't stand watching the team slip back to those days, becuase we all know how hard it is to get back there.

You're right it will be because Miles is on the sidelines
