Is Miles gonna call out these refs for this game? Is he gonna stand up for LSU losing out on going to the championship game for this?
I'd just have to get fined if it would help anything!

Miles stood up for the refs in his presser.

I've noticed that Miles does not evern yell at the refs during the game, which is unusual for a Division 1 coach.

Miles took the SEC line on the game and stood up for the refs. I have been a Miles supporter up until now. I may be reconsidering my views.

Wish I could say I was kidding. He defended the two refs on the field who made the call. Said he understood that they could not see if PP made the catch with a foot in bounds.

Said he talked with Slive and the head of officials. Didn't say what they talked about. Didn't offer an opinion if he thought the call was right or wrong.

I think you turned it off too soon. He did say that the officials on the field could not see the call because of bodies in the way. However he also added the league told him the replay guy is there to defend the call on the field and he said "I can't tell you what he was looking at". Just because he does it with class doesn't mean he isn't standing up for his team.

When did he say he thought it was a wrong call?

Probably to voice his displeasure behind closed doors. Thus, he avoids the fine and possible suspension. Once again, we have no idea what he told his team.

Yes, the call was bullshite. Yes, I agree the SEC officials need to have some serious upgrades. But he makes a good point that we\'re still down in the game. Hell, even in my 6th grade basketball games I\'ll rail an official for my boys but I\'ll also tell them the officials didn\'t play poor offense, defense, etc.

I thought the replay guy was there to make sure the call on the field was correct, and if it was not correct, then to change it. Guess I was misinformed.

Nope. A terrible point for a HC to make about his team who were not so far behind at that time that a TD wouldn't have put us back in the lead. By saying this, Les is all but saying it wouldn't matter to him if we had one last great chance to pull this game out - he had no confidence that we could. Bad, bad Les.

Or he was saying we could have stopped them on the next play...Christ

Do you honestly think that at the moment of the incident he thinks that we still have no chance?

He can say that the officials on the field made the best call they could given the fact that it was a bang-bang play with lots of bodies moving around in a tight spot.

He can then say that's why in 2009 we have the ability to go back and take a look at the replay and in high definition and in slow motion see repeat after repeat of the play to determine iof the call on the field was the correct one. After having done so after the game, he and his coaches belive 100% that the call from the replay booth was incorrect and he agrees with the majority of the sports writers and announcers in the nation who feel the same way.

How's that? He doesn;t need to be an idiot and suggest that there's some conspiracy like Chris Warner's idiotic rant, but he damn sure can come out and call a bad call a bad call if he thinks it is. By not doing so, it gives the LSU FAN BASE the impression he agrees with the call...

Lost in the translation. Common for Les Miles. Always with the understatement.
