he's been here for 2 years and has done some good things but as a 5 star RB has HE lived up to the billing? the driveman would never call him a bust, but is it fair to label him the Russell Shepard of running BACKS?

Spencer Ware was also a 5 star. It's ok they both still have 2 years to "Live up to expectations."

He's done pretty well, with what he's been given.

We have too many backs...it's a good thing, but there's hardly enough carries to go around for everyone.

if either of them was receiving the bulk of the carries for an entire season, I think we would all feel they had lived up to the hype. But with the system that we run I don't think you can say whether they have lived up to the hype or not.

I think when given the opportunity both of them repeatedly show they are quality RB's.

he's good, but his robotic running style limits him somewhat.

5 star on Scout, which I didn't know until today. Ford's a good scat back/ outside runner, doesn't run with enough power for me.

Which one had the better game when LSU and Bama played each other? Ford, Claiborne, and Reid were the players most responsible for that win.

Edit: and Brad Wing

Our team is so full of talent that it has hard for a player to meet or exceed their expectations coming from high school. Everybody projects a player to play most of the time without factoring in other players splitting time.

Coming in, most people expected Ware and Ford to put up big numbers without factoring how each's playing time would take away fro each other.

Realistically, since he is splitting time with Blue, Ware, and other backs, he has done well.

I wish he would have received more carries because I like his running style and production over Ware.

One issue for all of LSU backs over the last three seasons is the relative lack of big plays in running game. A lot of this stems from the growing ineffectiveness of the passing game over that span, and the heavy emphasis on running the football. It's a lot easier for opposing defenses to contain the big plays if they can safely keep 8 or 9 in the box.

Thankfully, if the offensive staff truly is willing to open things up again with a real QB, then this could change. Spreading a defense out with our O Line could mean a LOT of big runs this year.

Am I the only one who thinks Ford transfers?
Underclassmen passed him on the depth chart and now grades?
