I watch almost every inning of every game and plan my schedule to be able to do so. I have opinions on the team and spent over 12 years playing the game and 6 years coaching. when I make a post giving an honest opinion of what I see (if it's critical) I get lambasted and get assailed with names and shouts of how I am a sidewalk fan and don't know anything about the game. let's just call them insults.

and i'm not alone. some others get worse treatment; they are downright assaulted verbally by a bunch of posters. yes, some posts are outright silly but many are just manifestations of their frustration (duh, a rant). it seems that any "perceived" negative comment is just not welcome and that only a handful of posters have a monopoly on "baseball knowledge". others opinions are just not accepted or even discussed in an intelligent manner.

I post this because I think the board would be a better place if these self appointed elites would take a step back and realize that others have a right to their opinion too. yes, most critical posts come during or right after a game because it's fresh and people actually care about the team.

I very much understand the "regulars" don't want this board to be dominated with the football mentality and the "fire everybody" mentality. I totally agree. but, believe it or not, most people that love baseball very much understand that the games are different and that it's a long season with many ups and downs for both individual play and team play.

in short, why can't we all just get along?

Amen. I made a post after the TCU game about how Lange has regressed since his Freshman season and I got torched. Then last night he goes 4.1 innings and surrendered eight runs-seven earned-on eight hits, walking four and striking out seven. It would take a blind man to see that he doesn't have it right now for whatever reason.

The so called baseball experts on this sight either love LSU baseball or live miserable negative lives because Skip spoiled them. They are like children, if you keep that in mind you can only shake your head and hope they grow up sometime.

PS. Lange will get his mojo back .........in Omaha.

.book it!

That's because all you do is bitch and moan.

What's you're excuse for last week when Lange was virtually perfect? I got news for you, Wichita is probably better than Georgia right now. Georgia nearly got swept by fricking Rider last weekend.

I can see that you don't like people that aren't astro fans. my first astro game was in 1962 when they were the colt 45's. I have witnessed more astro seasons than you have lived (probably). over these decades I have come to the conclusion that their management is poor; their results on the field largely support that. do you think I want them to suck? I also am very much a fan of the national league. when the present owner took 80 million bucks to switch I got pissed, esp when it was necessitated because the commissioners team (Milwaukee)was allowed to move to the national league that created the unbalance in leagues.

once again, i'm an awful poster because my posts don't align to your opinions. well, frick you. I am not a sheep following the herd. but thanks for confirming the premise of my post.

You need thicker skin, gramps. You're not going to get it to stop, so nut up. All I can tell you.

ETA: from my experience you can be an elitist "only smart guy in the room" type. In short, a douche.

LSU GrandDad - I totally understand. As they say with sports talk on a radio station, I suggest you "turn the dial". The Rant will always be The Rant, so your best bet is another message board or premium (pay) website.

Right now LSU baseball is unbearable to watch CPM got lucky early in his tenure with Smoke's recruits and is a classic choke artist. We need to get back to power baseball. CPM is not the guy.

Notice how you don't reply to facts that other posters have stated. Instead you reply to the Astros comment which literally has nothing to do with LSU baseball.

you're reading comprehension is very selective. my calling UNO top competition was a poor choice of words but it was merely reflective of other posts on this board from those offering up excuses why LSU lost to them. the gist of that post was that we have not played well against the better teams and UNO swept us. nothing more or nothing less. and from that you conclude I don't know shite about college baseball outside of LSU. so give us your resume'. what makes you so knowledgable (sp) about college baseball? did you play, coach, or umpire? or are you one of these guys that couldn't make it when they had to play on a 90 foot diamond and now know it all?

baseball is indeed a very cerebrial game and many don't understand that. but making assumptions that anybody that disagrees with you or is critical is ignorant is just plain wrong.

This is what I'm talking about. No one fricking cares what you've seen and done. You're the classic grumpy, crotchety old curmudgeon that nobody likes yet thinks just because they're old they command respect. Less of this, and you'd get along better.

Crow Pie- Lang better get that mojo back long before Omaha, or they will be watching from home.

you mean when you said all I do is bitch and moan? or when others called me a douche or awful poster? what am I supposed to do, call you a poo-poo face?

none of the name calling or previous posts have anything to do with what my point is and in fact supports what I was trying to convey. I was merely asking for more discussion and less vitriol. but, as one poster said, I should just have thicker skin and lower my expectations.

Doubtful. I comprehended what you said in that thread.

This is you trying to backpedal.

Not just from that, from other posts also. Its not an insult. I just doubt you follow the sport much outside of LSU.

I watch other games and pay attention to other scores.....although I wouldn't say I'm an expert.

Played in high school. So I couldn't hack it past that level. Not sure what that has to do with discussing the sport. Definitely doesn't make either of our opinions more or less valid.

You can criticize the team or players and get away with it if your post has substance. Ell pulls it off all the time. But you usually can't back it up.

If you want more discussion, maybe not start by insulting someone's reading comprehension. What myself and other posters have called you has everything to do with what you're trying to convey. You make some interesting points but you do it in such a snobby, elitist way that no one wants to have a discussion with you. Can you not see that?
