Total rebounding AND offensive grabs. In 4/5 games with no Martin.

Damn impressive.

I don't see this changing very much either. LSU can shoot 40 percent the whole year if they pull down 20 offensive rebounds per game.

...they're also 33rd in the country in scoring. Come a long ways from barely topping 60 in the TJ years

Didn't we get outrebounded (or close to it) in the exhibition against Xavier?

Johnny must have lit into some asses after that.

I'll say one thing that has helped this has been the pace we have played. Lots of shots = lots of rebounds. We lost the rebound battle to UMASS, but since we have won pretty handidly. Overall pretty happy with the rebound numbers.

This.

Don't get me wrong, I think LSU will be in the top 5 of the SEC in rebounding at the end of the season, but LSU's opponents' pace of play, coupled with LSU's pace is skewing the number just a bit.

Thx for posting that.
Just checked stats too. I noticed that even tho' we're #1, JOB is 15th (a good stat for him individually). No other individual LSU player is in top 30. To me, this means that our rebounding has been pretty much a team effort so far. This is a great sign of our depth and that if JOB gets into foul trouble, or injured we have others to take up the slack. Love it!
By comparison, Kentucky is 3rd but their only player in the top 40 is Randle at #2. That's where they were last year with Nerlens Noel,

Love it!

The SEC has 3 Teams in the Top Ten LSU, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. Like where is Duke, UNC, etc.???
