In the business world, that would be conflict of interest on 80% of them.

I’ve been posting this all week. 6 are sitting athletic directors, 1 is a sitting president and 1 is an active professor. On Saturday’s 8 of the 13 members are busy all day with their own school’s activities. How much of OSU’s 11am kickoffs do you think they’ve seen? Clemson wasn’t easy to find on tv this year either. I’d love to be in the room to hear them actually talk about the teams instead is Mullens bullshite every Tuesday.

Probably true but he was born in Oakdale....

It’s absolutely asinine that athletic directors are even considered to be a part of this “committee”.

The whole thing is a farse anyway. They are just there to take orders from the television networks and feel important.

It's just that Ohio State has looked like the better team all year. No offense. Sagarin, FPI, SP+, Vegas computers all have Ohio State as the #1 team in the country.

So now we’re back to the eye test? Great.

Explain Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn St, Florida and Bama’s ranking by the committee then. I’d love to hear this. Wisconsin and PSU being ranked over Florida and Bama is a fricking joke.

I'm not sure who would win, I'm sure they would all be competitive games. I do know that Vegas would have Ohio State favored against all of those teams, for whatever that is worth.

I don’t think as many people are upset about Ohio st as number 1 as you think. It may not be something people like but there is at least some logic behind it. What happened Tuesday is unsubstantiated big 10 bias or agenda for every other team. Wisconsin lost all credibility losing to Illinois. Michigan has sucked all season minus a win against ND who no “eye test” should value. Penn st does not compare to Florida, Alabama or auburn. Cincinnati’s ranking week to week is criminal. They use eye test and resume wherever it is convenient and the result is all slanted. I would like to see the counter argument to why Wisconsin is where they are. Why Michigan is where they are. Why Cincinnati is where they are. What did the big 10 do to show this favoritism.

In my personal opinion, eye test is an important factor. It is just one factor, along with resume, and the data. In my opinion Ohio State passes the eye test, and so does LSU. Both teams have great resumes, so moving to the data Ohio State defensively starts to pull away a little bit. I don't think that means Ohio State would beat LSU, just that I understand why OSU is number one.

I'm sure the media and computers all did in 2007 as well. Although the reasons given sound reasonable, the arguments against fall on deaf ears. Hope it goes at least as well as NC of 2007! (But the regional bias will continue unabated regardless)

Yes.

If you want a northern, high profile name team in the championship game to play the best team out of the south, you give Ohio State the easiest path and make the two top southern teams play each other.

It's really not complicated.

Dude Ohio State wouldn’t have lost 4 games in the SEC West this year, that’s just ridiculous. Ohio State is a very good football team littered with NFL talent. I’m not saying they are better than us but to say they would be an below average team in the SEC West is asinine.

Yeah in 2007 I think Ohio State was ranked like 7th going into the final week and nearly every single team in front of them got upset. That is why we have the committee now. In 2007 Ohio State should never of been allowed to play for a championship lol

I hate to tell you, my band of brothers, but I have heard multiple times from multiple sources in the know that Beamer and Slocum are the most vocal and by far have the most sway on this committee

These people have been screened, before being selected, to make sure that they will follow the narrative.
