You may want to rethink your statement there bud. I was told the same thing weeks ago by someone paid to be around these kids everyday. Its a good thing McMillan is the talent that he is so early. With a little more time he may very well be our #2 guy. Now Jennings gets the experience nod which is worth alot in the SEC but he has proven to be less than whats needed.

And apparently you know nothing about the current situation. McMillan being better than Jennings should come as no surprise to anyone.

Same could be said about you. While McMillan maybe advanced from a fundamental or technical standpoint, no one has a clue how his development is going in the film room or on the chalkboard.

Its real easy to see solid technique from practice observations but history shows us that true freshman face a severe learning curve in their mental development of pro style nuances. What you also keep overlooking with McMillan is that he played in your typical air raid Texas high school offense which will only add to his learning curve.

If you would actually take the time to look into other programs who run pro style offenses, you would realize that this issue is not isolated to LSU only. Even Alabama is facing this issue in terms of possibly having to start a freshman at QB this season.

Don't think if Jennings doesn't keep his head in the game he won't get passed this year, tho. Very well could happen

The chances of him actually redshirting are better than it is for him being the #2.

As opposed to your vast experience as a High School/Junior College/Small 4 year College/Large 4 year College/Semi-Pro/European Pro/Canadian Pro/NFL quarterback.

OP was just repeating what he claims was coming from within the football office, not on the specific abilties of the QB's. He claims to have been told that McMillan may be the back-up.............

I suspect you'd have to travel to either Texas or Alabama to fight him. Obviously an alter.

Who wants to see AJ fail?
It's a silly and juvenile proposition...

Are you serious? There are LSU "fans" who want him kicked out of the program. Mainly because he sucks, though they will guise it in the hypocrisy of his off-season transgression, knowing full well they would not hold a player they liked to the same standard. But there is a mental dilemma there as well. They also want Jennings to stay--and suck--to fulfill their prophesy of Les playing worse players for personal reasons at the expense of the betterment of the team. They hold firm to their belief--no, religion--that the man who speaks so much of "victory" and the want to achieve it, would just arbitrarily favor an inferior player at that expense for no logical reason. None. At all. Except the pictures. Oh, those horrible damned pictures.

Cox's arm was fairly decent and he could make a play on his feet when needed
IIRC Cox had Ann ok arm, arm strength less than Jennings. Cox was accurate and had great anticipation.

If they suit up in p&g we as fans should pull for them. AJ isn't a bad kid but rumors are saying he is regressing and not dealing with harris passing him up. Hopefully he will keep working hard to improve. The incident with AJ and Bain and Thomas has more to the story. Like rashard being a former teammate and getting arrested for unauthorized entry in AJ's room. AJ called police but nothing done Bain gets ps4 back probably because he went to Rashard they are both from Fla. rashard probably told them where other stuff was. Who knows but AJ shouldn't be kicked off for that and he wasn't. Justin Mcmillon is a proven winner 2 x6a title winner. He is AJ with more poise Imo. If AJ stays positive and works hard he will stay back up if not Mcmillon who is smart and wkin hard will pass him up. My gut says AJ will transfer and franks Mcmillon and etling will fight for #2 next year. Unless Harris gets hurt and AJ gets a lot of PT and does well. I'm not sure if Mcmillon isn't far behind AJ at this point. No guarantee he red shirts but if AJ stays positive and stays a team player he will hold on to number 2 and could get called on. He has shown an ability to make plays late in games as mentioned above. Even vs Bama he made some late plays with his feet. ND game he looked ok at times. I'm pullin for him with his experience if Harris goes down we need him to improve and play better to contend. Maybe all hope won't be lost if we lose Harris to injury

someone wrote on TD a couple of months ago that McMillan can hit the TE with touch over the middle. if that's true, he SHOULD BE ahead of Jennings.

McMillan seems like the QB Cam snuck in while Les wasn't looking. If he blows up, he could be the end of the dual threat QBs that try to play in Cam's offense.

There were practice reports on Nola.com that McMiilan has better mechanics than AJ or Harris had upon arrival. If he doesn't have to focus on changing bad habits, he's already ahead of the game.

I love that it feels like we are actually building depth!

If Harris does what we all expect, we may enter 2016 with essentially no QB talk. Think about it....an experienced BH, a blooming McMillan, a prospect in Franks, and an experienced guy with potential in Ettling, and AJ somewhere in between (or not).

Anthony Jennings is probably the best backup QB in the SEC.
