Only $10 MM is guaranteed. That sounds like a lot, but with over half of it taken by the government and an agent, plus another half million gone from paying two years of an NFL lifestyle (trainers, etc.), he'll bank about $3.5 MM. Sounds like a lot, but if he can't maximize this contract, or earn another big one, he'll just be another working stiff but with a nice retirement. Hardly living the dream.

Someone just watched 30 for 30's "broke"

Russell Wilson is pretty darn good.

He's always one play away from alot of time off.

Not hoping he gets hurt, but if he does and FLynn shines again, teams will be banging his door down to help

I bet the cardinals could use him. Dolphins too. I know they keep talking up tannehil but he'll never amount to much. He makes average plays and they make it sound great because he's only played qb for three years. Vikings and Tampa could use him as well. Freeman is another bust that no one wants to admit to.

Let's just say the Carrol anti-LSU bias has great merit and that a certain QB was never given a chance

no, it isn't. if you make a lifetime average of $70,000, you're at 4.2. It's about average for a college grad whiteboy.

NFL= Not For Long.

seriously? don't know what your dream is but Matt seems like the kind of kid who will invest wisely and make good decisions. he doesn't drive a bently and he isn't married (smart) and if he keeps the gold diggers and scam artists at arms length he will leave the game intact and financialy sound. hopefully, this is not his last contract or chance to prove himself and improve his future. whatever happens, I'm all in for the kid.

beat clempson.

not sure about that math. Age you graduate college? At 24 if you worked 40yrs you would be 64 and that is 2.8m not 4m. Even 50yrs at 70 is still only 3.5m.... 4 million in the bank with several years at 600k minimum is a LOT OF CASH anyway you stack it. Spend some time at the money board and use that calculator button and Check yourself in an asylum if 3m isn't a lot of cash

And it's not like the 70k earner don't have to pay taxes too. And do you think Flynn retires at 30..

lol retire at 30, that's nice to have that luxury. I think he may be in the NFL till 40 - that would be awesome.

What's with black cloud syndrome? If he saves his money, in addition, he will draw an NFL Pension the rest of his life. Not bad even if he never steps on the field again. He will have a good living and a healthy mind and body. Now all he has to worry about is government and "income redistribution".

What a shitty thing to post about our former QB who led us to a BCS NC!

Shameful.

Seahawks wouldnt trade him inside the division. But i do hope they trade him. As much as i love having a LSU player on the Pro team i support. Flynn has potential to be a starter somewhere. He's paid too much to sit on the bench. If it was to the Cards i would hope it would be something like Flynn and a second round pick for FItz. OR maybe for PP7 But that would never happen. So possibly to the jets for someone like cormartie. Something like that.

He almost threw a TD on the WR that PP7 was covering.
