Versatile run game
First assessment of this 2023 Auburn offense starts on the ground. Auburn has the highest rushing rate of any SEC team at over 58 percent on the season and through two SEC games, the Tigers have 84 rushes to just 43 passes. That number also includes sacks, but the point remains, this is an offense that’s extremely comfortable fighting for the hard yards.
With Georgia and Texas A&M as its first two games, Auburn has faced two of the better defensive fronts in the entire country and showed the ability to gash them both for yards. The sack-adjusted yards per carry against Texas A&M and Auburn was 5.74.

Defensive potential
Auburn’s defense has some staining power and had impressive performances in all five games this year. The Tigers rank 23rd in overall defensive EPA and have legitimate talent in the back end with Nehemiah Pritchett, DJ James, and Jaylin Simpson. Carson Beck completed 66 percent of his throws for over 300 yards, but more than half of those yards came from Brock Bowers, who got loose in the second half.
From the two SEC games I watched, Auburn played a high percentage of zone defenses, allowing these talented defensive backs to crash down and make plays on the ball, while opening the door for some windows for opposing quarterbacks to fit passes in if they’re accurate. If not, they get plays like these.

We will make their offense look fantastic but ultimately we will score 50 on them.
Game probably looks like 54-35 LSU. We’ll pull away in the 4th but it’ll be close as always in the 1st-3rd

Where do you make these GIFs using game film? And how are they so crystal clear and not choppy?

As bad as our defense has been overall, I feel like we have been pretty good against the run at times. Auburn may have more success in the air than they have against other defenses, but I think we will successfully take away their strength.

They had < 200 yards of offense against TAMU, and their only TD was a pick 6
They absolutely played out of their minds against GA, but to this point in the season it's by far the outlier. We'll find out Saturday if GA was their turning point, or just one of those days against your bitter rivals

I’m a big believer that it’s hard to stop what you don’t practice against. They want to battle in the trenches. We are playing basketball on grass.

If the LSU defense isn't getting off of the field, Auburn is going to eat away too much clock with their run game for LSU to even come close to scoring 50 points.

2nd half of fla st and ole miss were absolutely abysmal and hell the dude from
Missouri had a career game against that defense.
The defense isn’t as bad against the run as it is the pass, but it’s still pretty bad.

Just throwing it out there
Auburn Nat'l defense rank is 25th
Mizzou 51
Arky 43
Fla St 79
Ole Miss 84
Ms St 89
This should be the first real challenge the LSU offense faces.
Bonus Bama 19, UF 16, TAMU 10

Yall are underestimating Auburn. Their athletes are always comparable to ours. Hugh Freeze is a good coach and no doubt they have improved the last 3 weeks. If our defense lets them run amok then we're toast because against Auburn we're not going to score 50

Well in the first GIF, the Auburn player clearly tackled the Georgia player in the backfield. Ref's definitely won't call that vs LSU

Stats are like bikinis: what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is vital.
To be fair about those stats, they played UMass, Cal, and Samford before going to A&M and Weigman got injured in that game.
UGA put 420 total yards on them.
LSU defense is bad. But, Auburn at 25 is hiding a few things.

It's their advantage of having the week off, while LSU slugged it out up north, that's truly giving me the shakes. Auburn will be well-rested, healed, and focused when they run out on the field Saturday night.
I'm .... worried.

That’s not ‘game film’, that’s from the tv broadcast

I think he goes back and watches them then uses a giphy app

I hope we can match their physicality. Greg Penn needs to be stout up front

Won't matter. LSU 52 TO 20

No doubt. Now is the time in everyone's schedules to make or break goals.
The offense has been clicking, but it only gets tougher from here out.
