Kelly said he thinks he will blow up this year like the Georgia TE did last year.

The practice videos of him make me think he's special...like first round draft pick special.

More raving from Brian Kelly tonight on #LSU freshman tight end Mason Taylor. He called Taylor as good as any freshman tight end he’s ever coached and compared him to Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.

“He’s going to hit like the kid from Georgia hit,” Kelly said.

Can this season get here already? I can’t take it anymore and ready to see this team kick some arse.

Mason Taylor
He has excellent turn-of-foot for a big man.

He has the quickness, fluidity, change of direction, and hands of a WR….with a TE’s body

I’m hoping for the next Aaron Donald. That would make me very happy

I love him. When I watched him, he was a rare HS TE that was close to college-ready physically, but also a very natural pass catcher.

Most guys have to grow into their bodies or develop the receiving skills.

Kelly: “I’ve been blessed, I’ve had great tight ends, 7 in the NFL right now and freshman Mason Taylor is as good as any of them.” Added that he ran 19.7 mph yesterday. #

Ah yes. The turn of foot, so often overlooked by the unwashed masses.

He is a very natural catcher of the ball.

You can tell he is mature for his age. Crazy thing is he isn't done growing.

So you are hoping he gains 50 pounds and switches positions?

Yeah, and he's added 15-20 pounds good weight since he arrived. Think he's around 245 now. His presence totally changes the potential trajectory of that offense. So much more versatile with a legit dual threat tight end on the field.

I was going to make fun of him for sounding like he was in the 1940’s, but at the same time “turn of foot” is actually kind of a good way to describe a guy being nimble, quick, agile.

I don’t think you know how much Aaron Donald weighs.

Taylor looked so fluid in the 15 secs of practice video I saw of him. Taylor looks natural catching the ball and can move. Taylor has a pro body already. I'm sure he'll have to work on his blocking, but I can see Taylor being a threat in the passing game.

When you talk about players I was most looking forward to seeing play this coming season Mason Taylor was at the top of my list. Malik Nabors 2nd and Harold Perkins 3rd. After listening to Kelly rave about Taylor on the radio show tonight, I'm even more hyped about him.

They use turn of foot with race horses all the time. If a guy that size runs 19 mph, I say describe it any way you want. That's movin a load for sure.
