That's why I said very good, and not great like some people seem to think. They aren't dominant by any stretch of the imagination.

But who have they played to even be mentioned as a dominant front 7? I don't get it!

This isn't true at all, but okay.

I love this word. It should be in everyday vernacular more often.

And people don't realize South Alabama could have easily been up 2 TD's early IN THE FIRST QUARTER. State's front 7 is good, but they weren't getting a lot of pressure early on.

If we jump out to a big league, I don't think State can recover fast enough. WE WANT opponents to THROW the ball.

Their front 7 is very good. They're only allowing 80 yards per game and less than 2.5 per carry.

However, they are giving up over 300 per game in the air and 14 yards per completion. So their secondary is not very good at all.
true. I imagine we'll beat on them with the running game for a while and then adjust and start tossing it around more, taking big shots downfield. One big play COULD be the difference maker in this type of game. My biggest "wish" is that adjustment happens in the flow of the game (before halftime); in Cam I trust for that.

Excellent point Sabi... be interesting to see if LSU takes advantage of that early on both the ground and air (screens, comebacks, etc).

I'm always the guy who laughs his arse off at people who suggest that "State is dangerous - you better watch out".

But I have to admit - this game has me a little worried for a change.

Predictions in these games always tend to go in this direction. If you pick Mississippi State and they win you get to tell everyone how smart you are. If you pick LSU and they win nobody blinks.

Their QB was a safety last year can't complete a forward pass over 5 yards. Let's be real here.

Good. Maybe the players won't sleep walk through the first quarter.

Does this include the game where he almost threw for 300 yds?

Of course not. Things happen in a vacuum, remember?

They forget one thing, the game is in Tiger Stadium Death Valley and if the crowd shows up for this one, good luck State!

The fans will show up, but it's unlikely they'll stick around -- even if the game is close.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows an upset is possible. Nobody that thinks we win handily is guaranteeing anything. It's always possible. Hell, we beat #1 UF with Gerry Dinardo in '97, and they were on a serious winning streak coming off an NC.

Point being, anyone who is actually PICKING MSU to win is guessing, looking for attention. If MSU wins, they look like a genius. If LSU wins, it was expected anyway.

It's always MSUs "best chance" to win, and eventually they will. But know this, if they win, it'll be a HUGE upset that nobody in their right mind is actually considering likely.

yep, they were ranked one spot below us when we played them - some (experts) predicted they would win the Big what ever it is now.
