Mainieri Is the George Costanza of In-Game Coaching

Whatever he does, the opposite is probably the right move. God he sucks so bad

That’s what happened 3 hours ago when he pitched to Mangum and he grounded out to the drawn in infield.

Despite the coaching decision, Broussard makes the routine play, we're not even talking about this. At the end, LSU had the chances to win and they choked it away.

That’s your takeaway from a 17 inning game?

His bunt calls don't work, his steal calls don't work, his hits and runs almost never work and usually just force a hitter to swing at a ball, his substitutions almost never work.
He fricked up all of that in just the second half of the game.

Downvote me if you want. Several clutch opportunities and came away with nothing. Had an opportunity to put the game away and couldn't. Those were some costly errors at the end. Feel bad for Hilliard, Beck and Hess. Pitched their asses off and couldn't get any offense production.

The odds that the people who attack Paul Maneiri know the slightest bit about the intricacies of baseball are very low.

1 for 15 with RISP.
Didn’t deserve to win, if Mangums double stays in the park, we’d all been asleep 2 hrs ago

Mississippi State fricked up enough tactically to plate 0 runs in what, 13 innings? There was a razor’s edge margin in this game.

Privately asking Bertman's players what they think of PM makes this post inaccurate.

Do you really think Broussard had a chance of getting Mangum out fielding the ball cleanly?
Posted on 5/23/19 at 4:48 am to mlschil62
He was out if fielded cleanly for sure.
But I do think it's hilarious that OP is blaming Manieri for our guys failing to get down bunts and getting thrown out stealing. If you are playing college baseball at lsu, you've been taught how to bunt and been stealing bases your entire life
Popping out a bunt to the pitcher isn't an "in game coaching" mistake, it's an error in execution, unless you think we shouldve been doing bunting drills in the dugout during the game
Also our batters with an opportunity to swing away at the plate striking out or hitting into outs is not an "in game coaching" mistake. We had 1 hit in 5 innings off the pitcher that started extras for them. The players have to adjust to the stadium and quit swinging for the fences.

that wasnt a routine play. That was a slow moving nubber that took a funny hop and Mangum has + speed. He would have probably been safe regardless.

He’s fricking awful when it comes to in-game coaching.

Need to hear his comments about the offensive calls during the top half of the 10th.
You get a base runner on with no outs and he calls a”fake bunt-steal”? Did someone miss the sign? Why not have Garza attempt at the ball to hold the catcher down just a bit longer? Replay showed that they only needed an extra millisecond to be safe..

This sounds like a player execution issue and State had more opportunities than LSU did. LSU pitchers executed and got out of jams. Is that because of the coach? By your logic should he not get credit for that?

I’m not the biggest CPM supporter, but I thought he did a decent job last night. He made some questionable decisions (like bunting Dups), but that’s easy to do in 17 innings of baseball.

You just a lil bitch with this quote tigerfan88. Only reason these calls don't work is because the players don't execute them or the other team makes plays. If they were made you'd probably wouldn't be able to voice your opinions cause your mouth would be full.
