Seriously...you need to get out of that. Put your foot down, be a man, and accept sleeping on the couch a couple of nights.

This. and if you don't you're no better than the whipped pa in law you describe. Worse actually, at least it's his wife, right?

Touche... Enjoy the single life while you can before entering into marriage. Sometimes you just gotta do whatcha gotta do... I'll be following the play by play on phone during the movie. DVR after. What the hell did our dad's do in this situation?

Sure as hell didn't watch Betty White movies for MIL's b-day...during an LSU game.

hahaha, my wife wouldn't even invite me to go to som'n like that during an LSU game. She already knows what the answer would be. I would say go get your nuts back, man, but it's obviously too late for that.

I guess you failed to set the standard. How long have you been married? I do not miss football games for stupid events. Yes this qualifies as such. Your wife and co. should already know not to expect you there.

Turn in your man card on the way to the movie and don't forget the kleenex!!!!

I missed my wife's grandfather's 90th birthday party for the South Carolina game in 2007.

Both of these.

Your situation is baffling to me.
