Brought to you by our friend F. King. I wonder where he came up with the funds to pay for this... (This is sarcasm! I have no problems with our athletic department EDUCATING athletes and coaches on the dangers of sexual harassment/assualt.)

My view is it can't really hurt anything and at least the athletic department can say they are trying. It's never a bad thing to educate students and faculty on potential dangers. Thoughts?

They will probably do it through the LSU health center and it wont cost anythign

They do it for Fraternities for free (well they are already paid by the university to do this job)

Probably not a bad idea. I strongly dislike F. King.

Your first paragraph makes you sound like you think this is a bad thing.

Good advice from LSU's counsel to guard against a Tennessee/Baylor situation. It's all about risk management.

Lawsuit prevention/mitigation. LSU is just taking steps to try to prevent a Baylor type situation from occurring on their campus.

Edited to add that it was sarcasm. Educating young people about sexual harassment and assaults can't ever be bad. Hopefully, the message hits home.

Besides many of our fans being generally stupid, why would anyone be against this?

It's not free, they are paying those employees to do that job.

I wonder if they will get a 3rd party from outside of campus for this.

Because at some point someone is going to bring up "SJW" and everyone will just lose it.

Because F. King is being proactive about something.

Look at his letter to the students about the police situation on the OT and tell me some of our "fans" won't be upset by this.

Weird considering every other LSU employee has to do this already

Plenty of departments do this. I know Rice does 100%.

It's not a bad thing.

If we're being honest I hope we would all at least hope that it would be because there are decent people in our athletic department who don't want to see people put into this type of situation.....in addition to also not wanting to get the pants sued off of the AD and the university.

It's smart from an education as well as a liability standpoint. Last thing you want is for the institution/coaching staff to be involved in a Baylor-type situation.

Not sure why anyone would have a problem with this. This is required yearly training for every Louisiana state employee, including all full time and part time LSU employees. I don't know if LSU athletes' training would consist of more than the online course state employees take. My guess is, it will be the same.

This, but it came from F King, which means an obligatory knee jerk reaction against it.

I think we did that at work like in the late 70's. Glad to see they are only like 35 years behind!!
