There is no way the League office can force LSU to lose the $6.5M in lost game revenues on top of the $1.5M buyout. And the League office will never write a check for that, either, though it easily could. Fla. has insurance coverage for this type of weather related loss, so minus its deductible, Fla. loses nothing monetarily. Foley & Fla most definitely wins but as the League office is as much if not more to blame in the end, I almost want Fla to win out, UT lose, and then watch the League office shite all over itself trying to make all parties good.

Nope... We have dug in. Plus there is 1.5 million to be paid to South Alabama. We won't pay it. The SEC won't and we know UF won't.

The logistics of such a move — just two weeks out — is complicated, though.

This is Florida's next narrative. It wont cost more to move that game then LSU/BR will lose for canceling 11/19.

This is purely for on the field advantage. Florida doesnt want to play UGA and LSU back to back.

Florida coach said wednesday during coaches teleconference that the game would not be moved to BR because it would be unfair and unsafe to play 3 SEC road games in a row.

Now they want LSU to play 3 on the road in 2.5 weeks.

Again, what is the point in staying in a conference where members are not treated equally or fairly. It's the reason the BIG 12 is in the position it is in right now. Colorado, Missouri, Tex A&M, and Nebraska felt shafted and left. I don't want to leave the SEC, but I don't want to get bent over every time UP or Bama says they want something their way.

Piss poor planning on UF's part apparently now constitutes an emergency on LSU's part.

I agree that Alleva did his best to get the game played this weekend, anywhere/anytime. But he was not competent enough to get it done.

Such a misguided statement. I understand why people hate the guy but there is nothing more he could have done in this instance.

What if we just refuse? What if we tell everyone to screw themselves and we play South Alabama? What can anyone really do to us? The SEC isn't going to boot us out, and if they did every conference in the country would be knocking our door down.

At the very least need financial relief for the lost home game AND move A&M to Sat.

Those two are must haves.

LSU is no longer the perceived bad guy in this, but I'm sure they'll get fricked and forced to play on 11/19.

OK so ESPN says it on TV. No one cares who did what outside of Gainesville and Baton Rouge. No one is going to be carrying any pitchforks because LSU is being portrayed as the bad guy.

If we push back hard enough, they won't be able to force us to play. It's a matter of how hard we fight it. If y'all want to see what Alleva is made of, this would show us. If he caves and LSU loses all that money and is forced to play 3 road games in a row, then his arse needs to be fired on the spot.

All this "play on the 19th" bullshite will end the moment Tennessee loses another game. It will then become "there's just no way this game can be made up".

Jeremy Foley just pulled the unprecedented move of getting a SEC game cancelled. He showed what a good AD can do. Joe Alleva, no matter how well-intentioned he was, failed at getting the best for his student athletes.

Additionally, since the cancellation, Joe has continued to "play nice" with the UF administration and says he wants to show them respect. All this after they just smacked him right in the mouth and laugh about it (See volleyball and soccer games still being played and hosting a big recruiting day today). Florida shows LSU zero respect and Joe just shrugs his shoulders.

Aleva & F. King should put two options on table.

1-Move cocktail party to 10/22 and we play UF on 10/29 in Tallahassee.
2-Move SECCG out one week and we play UF that weekend.

FINAL ANSWER!

Watch what happens. The media will start to demand that LSU/UF play, and the only way that happens is for LSU to cave in on what we have been strongly against, dropping the South Al game. When LSU pushes back the national media will rip into LSU.

It's coming. Actually, I think Joe will cave and we won't catch any backlash. We'll just get screwed...again.

If the media and SEC push this narrative and look to force the Nov 19th game, Alleva should hold a press conference and demand 3 simply and reasonable things to occur.

1. Move A&M to Sat
2. Reimburse LSU for all lost monies including buyout, tix revenue and averaged ancillary profits
3. The resignation of Greg Sankey.. His mismanagement under stress has shown an inability to properly lead the conference. Since Foley is retired, he suffers no consequences..
