What matters is wins not who is favored.

Title leads one to believe that this is based on actual Vegas info.

Then I saw that it is just a random opinion.

I don't think we deserve to be favored vs Alabama regardless of circumstances until we beat them again

As we should be favored. You will not find too many teams returning 18 of 22 starters, mostly juniors/seniors, with as much experience as we have, not to mention talent, depth, highest paid coaching staff in the country, facilities, home schedule, etc.

So you're saying the bookmakers will be giving away money for the Arkansas and Alabama games next year? Guess we'll see.

Forget Alabama. We don't deserve to be favored over Arkansas until we can at least play within two TDs of them.

I will be surprised if we are favored over Alabama at game time. I won't be surprised if we are underdogs to Arkansas at game time, either. Florida and maybe even Auburn, both on the road, also have a decent chance of being favored over us.

Of course, just a couple of years ago, we were an unlikely late 99-yard drive by a backup QB away from losing to two different 4-TD underdogs in the same season, so I don't see how it could possibly matter whether we're favored in all the games next year...except to bettors, of course, who obviously will make easy money if we are favored over Alabama or Arkansas.

That is an emotional way of looking at it. Vegas doesn't care about that. The past 5 meetings were different teams than will meet next year.

we were a 7.5 point dog at Bama. Playing at home wouldnt have swung it 8.5 points.

It all depends on how the season is going. If we stumble early, we likely are dogs vs Bama.

Of course, I'm going in hopeful of greatness. It's the only way to do this

Bama will 100% be favored against us.

I think that is the point. There is something beyond personnel here that gives us trouble with them. "Styles make fights" as the old boxing saying goes. Stylistically, we have difficulty with teams that can match us with talent or that are more physical.

Yes, meaning they still would have been narrowly favored over us in our own stadium despite the fact that we were undefeated and ridiculously overrated at #2 in the nation and they were somewhat underrated at #4. Events since then and likely events between now and game time make it seem unlikely to me that we will be favored at game time.

Every year is different teams meeting, but the result is always the same. You don't think bettors know this and will bet accordingly?

Lol wow. Try and use some logic instead of stupidity... Yes they would have been -1 favorites LAST year in DV. Hmm which team returns 18 starters with a better DC? We do and they won't be better, probably worse. Add that up and it's worth 2 points

That's not what the OP said.

Either your math sucks or you have no idea how betting works.
