Where are those Nikki haters? Crickets. I guess they are waiting for the next loss. They can't be found after a win. Pitiful.

OK, at least you answered my call for the Nikki haters. I give you that. Where is that Nitwit and his crew? Praying for the next loss I guess.

I think the sky is the limit with Caldwell. I really think this little period has been one of her best coaching jobs since she has been here. I am impressed with Boykins development. Rhodes should be seeing the court more. She is beginning to look more comfortable. Ayanna Mitchell is a talented and explosive post coming in next season. I expect her to make a significant impact. I am quite certain Caldwell will add a Juco player as well. Now, I think if we finish above .500 in SEC play, and have a successful run in the SEC tournament. This will be Caldwell's most impressive coaching turn around. I expect us to finish the season out strong with unknown post season possibilities. I think Caldwells next step is hiring a great recruiter with connections.
I think once Caldwell has players, we will be a top 15 team consistently. She does a great job of coaching and developing her players. I'm hopeful that things will get better

Cleo!!!!!!!

Would someone explain what the Cleo means? It has generally been used by those who are putting the coach down so I take it to be a negative label. Just trying to understand in what way. The only explanation I can come up with is a racist one. Hopefully there is another meaning.

I wholeheartedly agree, except that I think her first year here was her best coaching job...........but that's neither here nor there.

I think when she brought Stacie Terry with her from UCLA, she assumed that she (Terry) could duplicate her recruiting prowess here in the Southeast. But, Terry didn't have any connections down here and thus, the recruiting suffered. So, the key is going to be.......as you mentioned......hiring an assistant coach who is a top notch recruiter. Right now, that's all that's missing from this young staff. The sky is the limit if we can get the recruiting piece improved.

I am assuming someone on the board was referencing Coach Nikki Caldwell to being Ms. Cleo. See the link below. That is all I can find on the subject matter as for the meaning of it.

Yes, getting Ballard back has helped this team take enormous strides.

They are playing some solid basketball as today's victory over Kentucky proves. Just keep it going!

That is the handy work of the infamous poster "mistert". He hands down is the worst poster on this site. Well, there is a lot of competition there, but he is bad. He also comments a lot on the Advocate page articles. He is noted for having stupid nicknames for coaches. He was known for calling Yvette Girouard "Madame Peppa" for her days at ULL. Here is his latest Cleo post...I think Cleo is short for Cleopatra:

quote:

Cleo Goldbricka Fricka! Didn't I tell yall? She don't recruit! She is losing players to attrition every year, her own recruits! She probably make 8 times what the HC at UALR is making and loses to UALR by TWENTY? ...

Beth Torina is the only LSU coach he likes. He's just an odd guy.

It sucks that Ballard was out, her presence probably flips 3 or 4 games and this win would've moved them into the top 20.

You are probably right. I will be conservative and say that there are 2 games LSU definitely wins if she is playing....Tulane and Santa Clara. Tulane is good and we almost beat them anyway. Santa Clara is just awful and there is no way we lose that game. We were soundly beaten by UALR, Long Beach State, and Miami, which are all good teams. Rutgers would have been a tossup.

But for the sake of argument, just give LSU those 2 wins I mentioned (Tulane and Santa Clara) and things look very different right now. LSU would be 12-6 instead of 10-8. A 12-6 LSU would probably jump into the rankings this week. But more importantly, going 6-6 in the non-conference as opposed to 8-4 means LSU's conference record is probably going to have to be 11-5 to merit NCAA consideration, plus a couple of wins in the SEC tournament. Those two wins would have made it a lot easier coming down the stretch...now there is no margin for error. LSU has to win almost all of the games they are "supposed" to. At Tennessee this Thursday will be tough and at South Carolina will be almost impossible. Other than that, LSU can only afford about 1 more loss in the other 8 games.

I agree with you guys but, the bottom line is this. Ballard was suspended. There's nothing we can do about those non-conference games. I think we'd have been 9-3 instead of 6-6 and, probably would've beaten TAMU. But all this team can do is continue to improve and play as hard as they can the rest of the way out.............Let the chips fall where they may.

I agree with Ballard we would be better than 10-8, but also realize we did not have to play KSU (likely loss) so it kind of evens out. In any case anyone know why the trny thing got canceled..weird...never did hear but what a mess and must have been a major downer for the team, although they did get some beach time, you prepare for 3 games and only get to play one..again, why did the trny get some messed up?
