I agree with Ballard we would be better than 10-8, but also realize we did not have to play KSU (likely loss) so it kind of evens out.
But we were also supposed to play UTEP, which was a likely win. They are bad this year.

why did the trny get some messed up?
The scuttlebutt that I heard from people who know people who know people within the program was that the organizer of the tournament didn't have enough money to pay the people who ran the site where the games were being played, therefore they wouldn't let the games go on.

Out of curiosity, anyone know what Ballard did to get suspended for half the season? The other knock I have on Nikki (aside from recruiting)is that every year someone is getting suspended, I don't think I've seen a team have this much publicized team problems. Tank just was suspended at the end of last season and just disappeared. 3 years ago it was Ballard Youngblood and Baker all getting suspended. Baker never came back.

I did a little research on Ayanna Mitchell, the girl can play. Physical player, who rebounds everything near her. She has a nice outside game. Doesn't have 3 point consistency. I also completely forgot Alexis Hyder is on the roster, she is a transfer from North Texas. She will be eligible. Very good player. Big girl, very good rebounder, she can shoot from anywhere on the court. Surprisingly has some very nice moves and ball handling skills. She adds a 3 point threat as well. Post play will be significantly better next year.

New ESPN Bracketology has us in the "Next Four Out"(basically 7 spots off) and we got some votes in this week's AP top 25. Gotta keep it up but the tourney's not a pipe dream anymore.

I honestly believe we'll get into the tournament. How we'll do once there is the question. Again, I think we have the best guard rotation in the SEC now. But, our post play is going to hurt us when we have to go against the teams in the top ten. But, that's okay. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year anyway. So, anything we do is gravy to me. I think this team could make the tournament but, I don't think we'd have much chance of getting past the sweet sixteen..................but then I thought the same thing about the team back in 2000, and we were able to make it to the elite eight. And that team was structured JUST LIKE this one........
Lady Tigers Make the Elite Eight
And that team had a starting five with no one over 6'1". I loved that team!
1999-2000 Lady Tigers
The starters were......
Marie Ferdinand
Angie Crockett
Katrina Hibbert
Detrina White
April Brown
They were fun to watch!
This year's team, might be able to do the same thing. We shall see.........................

So what is it going to take in order to get into the NCAA Tournament. We have some bad losses, but have some impressive ones as well. A win vs Tennessee and a ten win conference record would be great. Hopefully Harden is ok

Normally, at least a .500 record is required from the SEC to get in. But, there have been exceptions to this "rule". But with our average preseason, I think we'll need at least ten wins in SEC play to get in. Just my opinion................

I think a 7-3 finish and a SEC tourney win would put us in easy. Whether the committee views us as a different team with Ballard will be important. That's what they would do if we started off well and she got hurt/suspended.
