Talk about polar opposites as far as pre-game settings go! I guess I will be trading my Lail 2017 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon for a Witch Doctor from VooDoo... hope I remember the game

Welp the main schedule still says Rose Bowl for now.

Could be some truth to this based on this article from WBRZ

LSU will play seven home games, but many eyes will be on their season opener. LSU is still scheduled to play UCLA in the Rose Bowl in sunny California. Covid restrictions may limit that from happening as alternate sites are already being considered, however for now the game is still on the schedule to happen on September 4.

They’ve GOT to get that game OUT of California.
LSU should refuse to play the game if it isn’t moved.

I’ve been to the Rose Bowl a few times for the RB game and other events. Would love to see LSU play there regardless if regular season or CFP game. However, the stadium is ancient (Meaning sightlines can be very distant from field), the amenities are scarce, parking is horrid and leaving the area is a 3 hour endeavor. Factor in flights to LAX and hotels nowhere near the stadium (you aren’t going to party hard anywhere near the stadium), folks are going to have a better time in Vegas.

I am in for either...

if Vegas is more open than Cali so be it.
Gambling+ nightlife + legal weed = good time
Maybe throw in a pool party at one of the hotels as well

To some, history means more than flashy things. Pasadena and the Rose bowl is college football. Vegas is a toilet and their new stadium offers no nostalgia. If they are gonna move it to a modern day spaceship then jerry world would suit me just fine.

I understand the desire to go to the Rose Bowl .... of you have never been there. Enough previous post about the stadium that I can only confirm. Of there is a large crowd expected, I will never go back. A very historic, but horrible stadium for the fans.
See ya in Vegas though!

I was planning to do the Napa Valley/Pacific Coast Highway thing, but count me in for Vegas. We had to cancel our plans for the Saints-Raiders game last September. We can go to California another time.
You may want to invest in a mao

How about they play in Tiger Stadium in 2021 and play in the Rose Bowl in 2024. No need to make this harder than it has to be.

The Rose Bowl's grand days are over. You don't want to go to SoCal these days.

If this game moves to Vegas, consider my bachelor party planned.

cali sucks and rosebowl is outdated junky venue. vegas would be much better. neutral site games are more fun anyway

I have been to Pasadena and the Rose Bowl several times, last time about 8 years ago.
You guys are going to call the Rose Bowl a dump when we play 7-8 games each year in 96-year-old Tiger Stadium? Gimme a break.
Look, it's bleacher seating, just like most of Tiger Stadium. The concession areas are outside of the main bowl, meaning you walk through long narrow tunnels to get to and fro, including the restrooms. (LA Coliseum is similar).
There's plenty of room along the asphalt concourse that surrounds the seating area, but inside it's just one huge seating bowl encircling a plush green field. The backdrop to the whole thing is the San Gabriel Mountains.
It's a spectacular scene, really. And I'll bet the players will be juiced to be playing on the same field as all the great players before them.
There are no paved parking lots for spectators. You park on an adjoining golf course and walk, sometimes a half-mile, to the stadium.
Give it a chance. LSU fans could end up taking over the stadium, and it could end up being a gorgeous and memorable afternoon.
Fans don't stay in hotels in Pasadena. They stay in Santa Monica or in the Valley and drive to Pasadena just for the game. No big deal.
The Covid thing could well be an issue, of course, but it's much too early to make alternative plans.
Vegas can wait. If we have a good season this year, LSU might get invited to open the 2022 season in the new Vegas stadium.
