Agreed! My trip to Houston was awesome. And probably got home about the same time as I would have if the game got played @ Tiger stadium.

From purely a fan perspective, I'd much rather watch a game in Dallas at JerryWorld.

Reliant is really nothing special. Looks very Georgia Dome-esque inside. It's not that nice.

ETA: maybe I'd like it better with the roof open.

The problem is that it is BYU. If LSU is going to schedule a neutral site game, can't they find someone a little more appealing.

Exactly......not to mention the season ticket holders get shafted with shitty tickets for these neutral site games because the premium tickets generally go to PSL owners. I'm really starting to get fed up with all of this bullshite. I have 8 season tickets and if this shite continues I will start buying outside the stadium on gamedays and save money like most of the smart folks do. Absolutely no reason to have season tickets if all we're going to see is 4 good home games at most, and the other 3 games you can't give tickets away for.

First off, BYU travels. Second, Houston is a hub for them and there were 12,000 present for UH game in 2013.

Second, they are our PERFECT opponent. PERFECT. Concession lines are short, bathroom lines are short. They don't drink caffeine, they don't drink beer.

They are polite and decent fans and you won't see a lot of trash talk. I went to a game in Provo this year and they were the nicest fans ever. (In the stadium, drink choices were caffeine free diet coke, root beer, sprite, water, and milk. They take no caffeine pretty seriously).

Yeah, cause only douchebags are sick of playing no more than 2-3 meaningful games in Tiger Stadium per year.

Wow.

This. I guess it's profitable, but aside from that it absolutely blows.

I don't see Michigan playing a neutral site game every year. Or Florida. Or USC. Or Texas. What the hell?

Florida plays a neutral game against Georgia every single year.

Texas plays a neutral game against OU every single year.

That all said, playing sorry arse BYU in Houston is pathetic. Sucks for those that pay $3k+ per season ticket.

Yeah and I also have season tickets and go to Baton Rouge for every single game. I actually enjoy my life though and don't get butt hurt about playing neutral site games. I wouldn't care if this game were being played in Atlanta or Dallas.

True. However they also play FSU every year which kind of softens the blow of losing the UGA game at home every other year.

Also true. However, that seems to be another one of those things that is ingrained in tradition. I think a majority of UT/OU would like to keep it in Dallas (could be wrong though)

The neutral site games are obviously profitable for LSU (otherwise they would not play them). However, at some point you run the risk of cutting of your nose to spite your face. Season ticket holders aren't going to continue to pay ever increasing prices for what generally amounts to 3 horrible matchups and likely 2-3 good/great SEC home games. Especially when you ask them to pay $100+ a ticket plus travel expenses to watch LSU play their one good non-conf opponent on top of what they already pay for season tickets.

Every game is on TV now. There's no "need" to actually go to the game anymore. Schools all over the country are worried about decreasing attendance at games. Charging more for less is not a great recipe for increasing attendance

1. You do know that season tickets are based on the number of games right? It isn't like fans are paying for games that aren't on the schedule.

2. Who the frick in the stadium is paying $3,000 for a ticket?

It's amazing how stupid the people on here get and how much shite they will make up when they complain about things.
