Thanks for the stadium windows Joe but how about you pump some money into basketball and give us a coach who at least isn't lost. oh and here is a novel idea, promote the program.

The last 3 coaches have had nearly zero personality....Brady had a little but it was assholish.

My take on that used to be, don't matter just get someone who can coach and the rest takes care of itself.

I'm afraid we're past that now, apathy has set in big time. We need a coach with enthusiasm, charisma and a vision for success. We need a coach who commands respect and has a presence and some personality.

We need to win back fans and recruits. Does not necessarily have to be a young guy if he brings all that but I think it the pool from which to find someone with all these qualities is much higher among the young than older retreads. In fact most of the retreads being mentioned have few of these qualities.

If I misconstrued what you said, and you actually don't think it would be easy to be successful next year, then precisely what part of his suggestion that it would be a struggle to be successful next year were you did you not "buy"?

Well Mcelwain has been there 2 years and has 2 sec title game appearances losing his qb in both seasons. So it's safe to say the jury has decided he's a pretty damn good coach. And if you look into both Donovan and Whites careers pre Florida it's pretty easy to tell they were sure things. As far as Florida having no pedigree that too is incorrect. I know most ppl here's sports knowledge starts post 2000 but Florida was a winning basketball program from 83 to 89. They were the SECs best team from 1986 to 1989 with Livingston Chatman and Dwayne Shintzus, even before Lon Kruger took over and brought them to a final 4 in 94. Might wanna do some fact checking next time.

nah.

your map has North Dakota #2 behind LSU.
North Dakota basketball stinks.
LSU stinks.

It is about PROPORTION.

if you have few people, and one or two in the NBA, your number is big.

And Florida was not a basketball power at all before Lon Kruger had success back in the '90s. LSU regularly beat them on the court in the first 21 years of the Dale Brown era

Well that's false. Norm Sloan won plenty at Florida in the 80s, including an SEC title and beat Dale multiple times. I believe he swept Dale more than once.

you do realize what per capita and smaller population means don't you? It seems that we do good for our size this dosn,t mean sweet sixteen runs every year,if we do get a coach that can carry us to the promised lands a few times we will get rid of him after misses few seasons !

My bad. I checked the archives of Florida basketball and was shocked to find out they were really good back in the mid 1980s. And they did beat LSU twice in both 1987 and 1988.
