Was just thinking off the top of my head. Thought they were ranked #10. Good job guys.

So... they’ve played 4 true OOC away games vs top 10 since 1960.

And with a win is weekend, they’ll be able to say they’re undefeated vs top 10 in true OOC away games this century.

VERY specific stat there lol.

Nice research btw.

A&M was #5 in 93 and #3 in 95 when we played there, they weren't in the SEC then but they must not be counting that since they are now

neutral site in 2011 doesn't count

What is so difficult to understand the difference between a road game & a neutral site game?

They must be talking about winning on an opponents home field because we have won neutral site games

ok the first one when i bolded on the road, yes, but i really wasn't trying to on the 2nd one, anyhoo, on the road means at the other team, pretty standard definition and as much as people like to rail on the media, they typically wouldn't overlook something like that and we haven't even mentioned bowls where we have beaten the #1 team twice

What years did LSU play top 10 teams on the road at the other teams stadiums? That's what we need to factor. LSU wasn't a powerhouse until early 2000s

LSU was, indeed, a powerhouse in the late 50’s and early 60’s.

I'm guessing on the road means at the opponent's stadium as a term of art. Because a common sense definition would seem to include any game where you had to travel a significant distance. You know, go ON THE ROAD.

The last one was Notre Dame in 1998. Not 1999.

Ugh

On the road in sports has always meant at the other team, that why they call it the Home and the Road team

The only one of these game that LSU was ranked (or even had a decent season) was a close 1970 game against ND. Every single one of these games, LSU was the underdog (a huge underdog except in 1970).
