LSU opponents 4-1 in bowl games this year so far

- Oregon: Rose Bowl Champions Beat a tough, hardnosed Wisky team with Russell Wilson and Heisman trophy finalist Montee Ball
- Moo State: Music City Bowl Champions: Played a pesky and well coached (albeit undermanned) Wake Forest team
- Florida: Gator Bowl Champions: Defeated tOSU in the "Urban/Mediocrity/etc." Bowl against a decent defense. Nothing all that special, but a win's a win.
- AU: Chick-Fil-A Bowl Champions: UVA is an upstart and well coached team. Also undermanned, but still plays hard and smart and blew them out without Michael Dyer.
** UGA: Lost to a very well coached Michigan State team in the Outback Bowl, who doesn't have as much speed or talent, but UGA is still young and improving. MSU made great adjustments at halftime to comeback and win in OT.
Ar-kansas and WVU are still yet to play, (K-State and Clemson respectively) and if LSU beats Bama that will automatically give another bowl loss to an LSU regular season opponent. Regardless, 4-1, with the sole loss in OT, is very respectable. I hope to edit this thread to a 6-2 record by next Monday.

Both good points, but the UGA really, really stunk that one up. Hard to get past how really stupid that was.

Conservative play backfired on them.

UGA, played weak in the second half, just as they did against LSU. Of course they lost to the Sparties in triple O.T. by a F.G.
Whereas against the Tigers, they were hammered!

UGA should have won their game. They had a chance to put it away after their 4th quarter INT, but did nothing. Then, in OT, they played for a FG when their FG kicker's percentage is lousy this year. They gained 2 yards on their first offensive play in OT, then lost those 2 yards centering the ball on 2nd down so that they could kick a FG on 3rd down. Why not keep running it to get closer or maybe even break a tackle and get into the endzone? Really stupid coaching by Richt.

He is a good coach... But he will be old and grey before Les is done at LSU.
If Les wins Monday... He's the highest paid SEC coach... He's happy and has excellent talent on the roster.... And recruits all over WANTING to come to play for him and LSU....he is set and going nowhere.
In that regard he is clearly much smarter....or rather far less egotistical than his predecessor.

I will never pull for Arkansas again. Their fans have pissed me off for the last time.

Agree. They are the bastard child of the SEC anyway.

No excuses.....but it if VT makes an easy field goal last night we're talking about how a missed UGA FG in OT kept the 5th best SEC team from beating the best Big 10 team.
