Weathersby's grandparents wont get on a rescue boat. He's tried to urge them to do it

Water creeping up and has put them on an island. #LSU

Emotional interview w/ Weathersby. He filled truck up last night ready to go rescue family. "Was about to do something stupid," he said

Because they're old people and that's how old people are.

After Gustav, my grandma wouldn't leave her house when we went to check on her. I finally pulled up a chair and said "Well then we're just gonna stay here with you then..."

She eventually got in the car.

My grandfather refused to get on our boat when we pulled up to his house during the BR flood. Stubborn bastard sat in his house with knee deep water for two more days before he finally decided he wanted to leave.

There are so many stories from Katrina like that.

Old people are stubborn and think they've seen it all and survived.

Why all the down votes for that post? Doesn't the rant think EVERYTHING is Alleva's fault? (Except what can be blamed on Miles and Cameron)

Lack of sleep and stress cause people to make irrational decisions.

This. And leaving their home makes it real. They probably worked hard to be able to call that their home and don't have much else. If they leave - what happens to the home? Where will they go?

It's a scary situation all the way around.

Some people don't like sarcasm. Others don't like examples of their own flawed thinking.

You must be the only one without stubborn grandparents.

My goodness, do all of you millennials think all older people are stupid?

Try considering other possibilities. "You know", like maybe his years of living where they are he knows things you unfortunate souls don't know. Yes, there are a lot of hard headed older folks, me included, but at least keep an open mind. Hell he and his grandmother may be former Olympic 200M backstroke gold medalist and don't need rescue.

Good call Toby.
