And I'm hearing we may not be done. The door has not been closed.

I don't think it quite excuses the three scholarships Trent has awarded to kids who IMHO are not up to the standard we need here, but that's done.

If he can continue to recruit as he has this year consistently, we'll be in fine shape.

Having watched Derenbecker and Gallaway last Saturday on t.v. I think we got the better one of those two without question.

I know it was just one game, but I've heard that it has been pretty much the case each time these two have met on the court in both HS and AAU.

Maybe defensively Galloway's better, but LSU needs guys who can score.

They played together in AAU. And Both were the teams leading scorers consistently.

Stats don't tell the whole story.

How about head to head then? First the obvious, Ole Miss beat LSU twice. Second, Henry's stats were better than Storm's both games.

I stand corrected and shot from the hip on the AAU thing remembering something I'd read incorrectly.

But I did watch them last Saturday and Derenbecker looked much better and was told that in the semi-final last year Derenbecker he also looked better.

My point is just I do think we got the better player of the two.

I went back and looked at the stats for those two games. Pretty even.

And you don't think having more talented options overall helps Henry in that regard any?

I can tell you this Storm will improve steadily each year he's here becauase he has the attitude and work ethic.

Let's see who is the better player when there careers are done.

Stringer looked great at times but overally just ok. Did show very impressive ball handling and passing. His shot is good but he does/did take some very questionable shots. 5/14 just won't cut it at LSU.

I don't even remember 1 thing Jalen Courtney did. He was that bad. Didnt make an impact at all.

Turner showed a good shot at times but not impressive.

Should be a replay of the game on that link I posted last night

That's why I was excited to get Ross-Miller. I prefer his steady approach to what I perceive as Stringers Tack/Fortson tendancies.

I've heard no one who thinks Courtney is an immediate impact player. By all accounts the least impressive of our signees.

I do think the staff expects immediate and significant impact from Turner. But then again I think they expected that from Dotson this year so that's no lock.

But I have heard more good things about Turner from others than I did about Dotson so frankly I'm expecting good things early. A bit discouraged he did not impress you more.

The only difference in Dotson and Turner is that Turner coming out of HS is healthy. Same type player. Turner is taller I think

Well it didn't help Dotson that he was coming off of a knee injury and hadn't played competitively in a while.

I know..I know a thousand times I know about Dotson's injury coming in.

But I'm trying to hang my hat on something I saw in him this year that I can carry on till next year and...I guess he'll have to show me.

Yeah I was just commenting on why he may not have been as effective as he is capable of being. I still like Dotson's game. TJ has stated that in a perfect scenario both guys would have been redshirted but our situation didn't allow for that.

I think had Dotson been healthy, he would have been a 10 ppg contributor The kid was a baller in HS until the injury. Sometimes things happens. I would love to see him bounce back. He had a lot of promise pre-injury.
