For the 4th down conversions against UF in the '07 game

This game pitted No. 1 (LSU) against No. 9 (Florida), and it may have been Miles’s best coached game while leading the Tigers. Tim Tebow led Florida to a 17–7 halftime lead, and the Gators looked completely in control. With 10:15 to go in the game, LSU scored a touchdown to cut to deficit to 24–21. Then, after a quick Florida drive, LSU got the ball with just more than nine minutes left, embarking on an eight-minute, 11-second drive that included two fourth-down conversions and produced the game-winning score in a 28–24 win. Miles elected to go for it a total of five times on the day and converted all five—an almost unheard of success rate. That aggressive mentality in desperation mode paid off in a victory that helped keep LSU on track for its eventual national title.

I loved Les when he was still the "Mad Hatter" and "Lesticles".

The game plan they had against Ohio St in the title game was perfect. On offense they threw to the tight ends and spread the ball around the whole field.

Crowton's playbook actually worked well with Miles' style. The problem was neither one of them could develop a QB at all.

Miles became so afraid of the quarterback after 2008. He handcuffed everyone except Mett in 2013.

Indeed, his mentality switched in big games after 2008. Instead of going for the win, he tried to minimize opportunities for his QB to lose it for him.

Mett was handcuffed on 1st and 2nd downs. He was just a 3rd and long wizard.

Having OBJ and Landry was a big assist in that department.

One of the best overall entertainment experiences of my life. The pre-game atmosphere was, I think we can all agree, tangible unlike any I've ever felt. The crowd might as well been a Mardi Gras crowd.

Inside, Tebow came to play and seemed to thrive in the environment - at least for the first half. But, our kids stayed in it - particularly the offensive line and Hester. When the defense gave up that score to 24 - I started to have doubts. When we scored to make it 24-21 - I was pretty sure we were going to win the game.

That drive was the first high water mark of the Les Miles-era. I'm not sure the championship game even exceeded it. I don't think we reached the "second" (final) high water mark until the game of the century, which was of course in Tuscaloosa. Truly a great game and experience. I am blessed to have been present live.

Jacob Hester made Miles look like a genius that game.

Right. And in 2013, Mett had been around a long time. At UGA a year, playing JUCO, on the team in 2011 and then playing all 2012. After that much time, of course even Les let Mett throw. The sad part is Mett should've been throwing in 2012. If he wasn't ready in 2012, he should've been.

Was a junior in high school. My dad bought me a ticket for $100. I got hammered before the game and went in by myself. Guy next to me kept the crown coming the whole game. Best game ive ever been to, time of my life

I remember a florida fan on the tiger rant a few days after the game. He was floored at the atmosphere, saying "when the stadium was chanting L-S-U during pregame i almost joined in it was so electric"

I love how everyone always seems to forget St. Tebow's bonehead interception (bounced off a player's helmet) that led to one of those scores. His collapse in that game was the main reason I felt he should NOT have won the Heisman that year. Hester took over that game and proved himself the better college football player in the head to head matchup, yet was completely left out of the Heisman conversation.

Crimminy, man! This might be the dumbest thing ever on the rant! Hester was a better COLLEGE player than Tebow.
