Interesting. We lose three contributing players on Defense in two days and actually get better odds.

Sorry, but until LSU shows it can beat Bama, then the Tide will get the benefit of the doubt. That said, LSU is LOADED this year. There are NO excuses for them not to seriously compete for the national title. The QB is not young; The NFL Draft didn't decimate the team; There is a ton of experience in the starting 22 and beyond; The last 3 recruting classes have been, at worst, ranked in the top 6; The only significant coaching change looks like an improvement from the last guy; The biggest obstacle in their way (Bama) has to come to Baton Rouge (so does Ole Miss)

The only thing that could possibly hold them back is if a rash of injuries cripple the team (fingers crossed we are done with those) and/or Les refuses to get out of his own way on offense. This offense has the potential to be as explosive as any ever to play at LSU. For two years they have kind of eased in and protected some young players. That time is over now.

Simple question: If not this year, then when?

Glad I got my 12-1 odds when I laid down my $100 bet in Las Vegas at the Wynn Sports Bet on July 2.

There have been literally zero times where LSU was the preseason favorite to win the National Championship. LSU has more actual national Championships than Preseason National Championships.

I can't find any years where LSU was in the preseason top 3 (top 3 in the odds, not in the rankings).

IF LSU scores more points than Alabama, they will win and if they win every game, they will win it all.
